  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

Archie sample pages
« on: December 05, 2009, 01:22:15 AM »
Hi guys :)

Haven't posted here in a long while. I see the forum got a fresh new look! Awesome!

I decided to pop back in as I drew two sample Archie pages this Fall, and thought I'd show you guys. :)
(note: the script wasn't mine.)

You can compare them to older samples I did 2 years ago at these url's:

I'm pretty happy in general. I hadn't drawn these guys in a while.
Anyways, I hope you like.

Aside from that, I'm really excited will all the stuff that IDW will be putting out in 2010. Those are definite buys from me! I'm also happy to see Archie doing more digital stuff. I fully support that! Really been enjoying the marriage storyline. Looking forward to the Pureheart stuff too.

I'll try and pop in here more often. :)

Wow, that is an improvement and it's good to see you on the forums again!

The style seems somewhat looser, but at same time seems to appeal more to the eyes. I think I read this story before, though...

Thanks, guys.  :)

And yes, ronnie343, you probably read these at some point, since I request scripts. They generally provide existing ones. I only hunt down the issues, to compare, once I'm done drawing the pages. However, I don't know in which issue or digest "Magic Mishap" was printed. If any of you have a good memory for this kind of thing, and remember the issue, let me know. I'll hunt it down.

That's GREAT work!:)

Are you actually submitting to Archie comics, BTW? I wouldn't be surprised.

Awesome. Hope you get to draw an official story sooner or later.

Good luck!

The new ones are awesome too! I remember you posting the older ones awhile ago and was wondering if you'd ever be making any more. I love the way you draw the characters, and you've given Moose such a perfect blank expression. Thanks so much for sharing these and I definitely am looking forward to someday seeing your work in an Archie comic! ^_^

I like these pages quite a bit.  Reminds me a little of Trina Robbins but not so flat as her art tends to be.  If you can't land an Archie gig you should try your own comic.

Glad you like, Darkmark. :)

I actually already make an okay living drawing my own comics. Been at it full time for over 2 years now. Drawing the Archie gang is an old dream basically. I'd do it for fun, and 'cause I like the characters. And the extra $ wouldn't hurt. ;)
