  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

archiecomics.com redesign
« on: February 15, 2010, 02:29:16 PM »
I just noticed last night that they've redesigned archiecomics.com - I had been thinking the old design was a bit cluttered and confusing, the new one is a definate improvement!

I'd been checking to see if they'd put the 2009 comic sets in the store, so I could figure out if I have all the 2010 issues so far, I think I do...  lol

It does look waaaayyy better, theres no ethel or midge  in the character bio, but I'm glad they took out the weight part in the character bios... but they are probably still updating it.

It looks excellent.  I'm pleased that Sabrina, Josie, and even Katy Keene are given some prominence on the site.

I hadn't noticed Sabrina - I like that she is back in the Archie style, even with her updated hair (which is fine!)

I'd prefer it if they had more bios -- fingers crossed that they expand that section.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping that there would be more games on the site as well...but since the redesign is fairly new, I'm sure that more will be coming soon.  At least, one can hope.  :)

I really like the re-design as well. The old site was so hard to navigate and made me feel a bit like I was checking out a "Where's Waldo?" page whenever I would try to find my way around. The new layout is much more clear.

I just played the Betty and Veronica's Dress Up game on the site and designed Betty's prom outfit:

"Betty and Veronica's Dress Up"

Betty Cooper + Cheryl Blossom. It's inevitable.

im really liking the new design....the other one was as Aya said playing "Where's Waldo" lol
i also like how they included the archies songs on the main page...i think on the old design they were hidden somewhere in Pop's Choklit Shoppe...
and i like how sabrina, josie, and katy are also included on the main page....they too were hidden

On the first page of the site, when the 5 main characters come up:

1)  Archie re-design looks nice (but why don't Archie's eyes focus on the same spot)?  Better than the "new look" of a few years/months back.

2)  Betty looks good

3)  Jughead looks good by why is his torso behind Betty's army when his feet are clearly in front of her chair?  And what's with "Chick Magnet" on his shirt?  Is it an attempt to be ironic or have they got some ch-ch-ch-changes planned for Juggie (if they do, they better tell Big Ethel!)?

4)  I once saw a hooker on 42nd street wearing the same outfit Veronica is wearing.  How can she walk in those shoes?  Ouch!

5)  Since when did Reggie start looking like a young Stephen King?  (Mind you, I think "creepy greaser" might be an interesting new wrinkle to his character...)
