  • Archie Comics Collector: @spazaru- I would think they would keep that vault section as it is so unique to the annuals and jumbo comics. We will find out next month when the first jumbo 288 pager releases. As for good old Stan Goldberg, I am a #1 fan, of early and late Stan Goldberg. Obviously his art in later years was not at the same level as his early years, his art just says Archie to me and his work on the original Archie Marries storyline got me back into Archie comics and I have not looked back since so I credit him for that. @John, looking forward to the new stories in the upcoming digests.

  • spazaru: I agree ACC.  The Jumbo Comics are the best.  I just hope the page decrease doesn't come out of the Classic Vault section.  They can take it out of the latter period Stan Goldberg and I wouldn't miss it! Ha ha.

  • Archie Comics Collector: Just called Archie, Jumbo comics digests are going to be decreased to 288 pages starting with Betty and Veronica Friends #240 appearing later next month. The last jumbo comics at 320 pages seems to be Jughead and Archie #5 being released in the next few weeks.

  • Archie Comics Collector: @I meant to say that there are no longer any logos on the cover from that B&V Friends 240 and on mentioning 320 pages and Giant Sized and that this issues descriptions just show 288 pages as you mentioned.
    July 23, 2014, 09:22:54 PM
  • Archie Comics Collector: @spazaru- Good eye, but that is not the only jumbo issue that seems to have 288 pages. Starting with the August solicitations with Betty and Veronica Friends 240 Jumbo comics, all Jumbo comics shown in the solicits from then on to the current solicits no longer have the logo Giant Sized and 320 Pages but 288 pages. Jughead with Archie Jumbo comics #5 is the last one coming in a few weeks that still shows 320 pages and Giant Sized. I will call Archie tommorrow and see if this changing as shown in the solicits.

Characters' birthdays?
« on: April 16, 2007, 02:06:34 PM »
Has anyone ever seen firm dates for the characters' birthdays? I bought a book yesterday that made me wonder....

archies_tv_laugh_out_51

Its a Zodiac themed party, but the signs the characters picked to be is intriguing:

Archie is a Pisces
Veronica is an Aquarius
Reggie is an Aries
Jughead is a Cancer
Moose is a Taurus
Betty is a Libra

Of course, there's nothing inthe book that follows up in this... ::)

I know next to nothing about Astrology, signs, personalities and such. Anyone out there that can shed some light on these choices? Do the characters' personalities follow the signs?

Hmmm..... :)

Ugh, who is the artist for the character profile on that link? Is it Jeff Schultz? I'd think Archie comics would want to get artwork from a higher profile artist, like Stan Goldberg.

I notice Jellybean got put on the same page as Hot Dog. Same as Midge and Nancy. What a weird setup. The website could use a revamping.

As Moose would say "D'UH!"

I forgot about that website.

Funny that they spelled Midge's last name wrong too... lol...

That's not the only typo on the site. On the front page, it says "Flutesnoot" instead of "Flootsnoot". I meant to tell them about that but got busy and forgot :)

I do agree that the website could use an overhaul - especially because there's no real alternative for those who don't have Flash (the menu does work without Flash, but most of the site requires it).

But the correct spelling IS "Flutesnoot"!

Ah, Dan Parent, eh? Makes sense then! I'm glad I didn't have to put Schultz on my list on artists I don't like! Jughead's profile picture makes him look short. It's almost like halfway through, Parent realized he would run out of space and had to shorten his legs to get him to fit into the picture.

See, in a story in Archie's Story and Game #27, called Reggie's Secret, Reggie's birthday is listed as April 1...April Fools Day.

You're right. It's still spelled wrong on the front page though. I was just getting them mixed up.

Sensitive to others feelings

Bad traits
Over sensitivity
Exaggerated fears

Jughead (Aquarius)
Good traits

Non conformist and individualistic
Friendly and sociable
Quick minded
Remains loyal to their causes

Bad traits
Has zany schemes
May possess little empathy for human feelings
Tries to sway people to their way of thinking

Veronica (Pisces)
Good traits

Highly imaginative and creative
Spiritually motivated and aware

Bad traits
Seeks control through giving
Unaware of creative potential

Cool Ginny, that's exactly what I was wondering. A lot of the traits seem to fit the characters, don't they?
