  • Archie Comics Collector: @spazaru- I would think they would keep that vault section as it is so unique to the annuals and jumbo comics. We will find out next month when the first jumbo 288 pager releases. As for good old Stan Goldberg, I am a #1 fan, of early and late Stan Goldberg. Obviously his art in later years was not at the same level as his early years, his art just says Archie to me and his work on the original Archie Marries storyline got me back into Archie comics and I have not looked back since so I credit him for that. @John, looking forward to the new stories in the upcoming digests.

  • SaveFearow: which do you think is a better value, the Jumbos or the 1000 pagers?
  • spazaru: I saw that Jon.  Hopefully they'll keep that up!
  • JonInIowaCity: The positive side about the jumbos is that they are now including new material and not just reprints.
  • spazaru: I agree ACC.  The Jumbo Comics are the best.  I just hope the page decrease doesn't come out of the Classic Vault section.  They can take it out of the latter period Stan Goldberg and I wouldn't miss it! Ha ha.

  • BettyReggie: TFAW.COM has still not put in the new comics on their site yet :'( but Midtown comics has done it 8)
  • spazaru: Thanks for calling ACC.  That sucks, especially with the latest price increase.
  • Archie Comics Collector: Just called Archie, Jumbo comics digests are going to be decreased to 288 pages starting with Betty and Veronica Friends #240 appearing later next month. The last jumbo comics at 320 pages seems to be Jughead and Archie #5 being released in the next few weeks.
  • BettyReggie: Later

  • SaveFearow: nice blog Jon. I'll miss LWA too but it had a good run and a very sweet epilogue.
  • spazaru: sorry, got cut off.  You're right, they are 288 pages.  Let us know what you find out after you call Archie.

Zooma:Prehistoric Princess(?)
The Termites Five(The Beatles or The Jackson Five?)

Zooma is probably "Xena: Warrior Princess"
The Termites are probably "The Beatles" just in keeping with the insects...

Just thought of another possible one.  During the 1980s, there were a lot of references to the department store known as Fjordstrom's.  Could that be a spoof of Nordstrom's?

The Betty story "She's Goth To Have It" has Archie and Reggie discussing the YBox (XBox).

I remember a story where the gang was in the forest and Jughead had a lot food in his bag and he said he had nutty bars, I eat those. I love them. But I think Jughead called them nutty bars.

Francis Chevy Copyola (Francis Ford Coppola)

This was in the story "Archie and his Pals in Star Roles". I saw this in the digital exclusive Archie at the Chocklit Shoppe, but I think I've also seen it recently in a digest.
