I mainly collect Archie's main series, but I also pick up any cheap copies of older ones from pretty much any year if they look interesting or appealing. My run of the archie series is from 139-607 now, with a lot of gaps before 100.  My earliest issue so far is #10.  I need about 15 or so issues from the 100's set to have that complete, a lot of these aren't easy to get for some reason.   I decided to collect the main series since this was the first title that launched and I always have a preference to originals rather than spinoffs or things like that, not just in comics.  I'm also a big fan of the "odd-ball" titles like Jughead's Time Police, Archie 3000 and Archie's R/C Racers and all that, back from around the time I was growing up.

On a completely unrelated note, if anyone has a copy of Jughead's Folly in fairly good condition that they're willing to part with for a reasonable price, let me know... One of the comics I just bought has an ad for this comic in it, and I now have a personal goal of snagging it. Newkadia.com has it, but I'm not paying $29 for a comic in Fair+ condition, regardless of what it's worth...

I used to collect everything archie. Comic books, dolls, etc. lol. It got expensive. Now I'm having to sell half my collection. Just to pay bills. It's either that, or get rid of my house and move in with my parents.  :'(  I already had to give my dogs away.  :-\  :'(

It's a rare one-shot from the 1950s featuring Jughead doing an Elvis impersonation (thus why it's worth so much and so hard to find).

I think finding a reprinted version is difficult to find as well...but if memory serves me, I have it in a Jughead Jones Digest.  I want to say it's issue #13...but I don't even know if it's the same story.

I used to be a die-hard Jughead fan in my youth, as well as anything the Archie Adventure Line (the early 1980s "Red Circle" relaunch era) published.  I still love the Mighty Crusaders (which is why I support the current Shield and Web books being produced over at DC).

These days, I sometimes pick up Archie & Friends, due to the numerous guest appearances other characters from the "Riverdale" universe (I recently absolutely loved "A Night In The Comic Shop")...

As far as back issues go, I really love some of the really weird short-lived series that popped up over the years, like Chilling Adventures In Sorcery, which was a short-lived odd 1972 attempt made by Archie Comics to do a horror anthology title, this time around hosted by Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. It's actually rather chilling and slightly disorienting to see straight horror tales being done in the classic Stan Goldberg/ Dan DeCarlo Archie "house" style...
