Okay, here's the new poll - with a few more options.

I made sure that 3 votes are allowed, and I've also enabled the change-vote option.

I'll add more options as we think of them.

A note on one of the options: "Riverdale" would be an all-purpose title for anyone, anywhere, and anything in Riverdale: parents, faculty, Pop Tate, the school board, the mayor's office, etc.

My picks:

Archie: The College Years
Cheryl
Katy Keene

My top three.

Reggie
Josie and the Pussycats
Little Archie

But, I really want to see a Sabrina and a Reggie digest.  But not together...separately.  Sabrina and Reggie Digest doesn't have a nice ring to it. Wink

I voted at first for "College Years", but I thought about it and considered that that would only work if all the core 5 went to college, and to the same college (or nearby colleges) at that.  Presumably in that case it would be a college in or near Riverdale.  And then it would be hard to distinguish it from their Riverdale High world, unless it introduced things like frat parties and binge drinking... no thanks.

So instead of that I chose "Riverdale", which would allow exploration of other characters I like such as Svenson and Weatherbee (though occasionally we get these stories anyway).  There're also eccentric new characters that could appear, like the miserly old man that lives alone on the outskirts of town but has a romantic backstory, or a shopowner that tries to compete with Pop Tate.

And I chose "Lodge Enterprises" because that's an interesting idea that would alow for exploration of all kinds of interesting issues that could appeal to adults:  white collar crime drama, greed vs. honesty, corporate politics, advertising and fashion.  (What does Lodge Enterprises do/make, anyway?)

And I chose "Reggie": like other people I think he is a character full of untapped potential.  Surely there is more to him than his vanity and his pranks.

I HAD to pick Reggie! He'd never forgive me if I didn't! Give that boy a new book NOW! Give him a digest while you're at it! REGGIE, REGGIE, REGGIE! (And bring back Clyde Didit - - the one who appeared in Josie...)

I then chose Archie: The College Years. I actually have some good story ideas for this that starts at graduation from high school. I'd play the book as a light drama (for 13+, but really suitable for all ages) that explores what the characters do about college, and why. I'd also introduce new characters or re-introduce old Archie characters (like Wilbur and his gang) in order to have some characters available for real forward motion and change...

Next, I chose Katy Keene. She's always fun! We need more Katy Keene! Miss Keene knows how to werq a paper doll! And all those fab clothes!

Slightly off-topic, but I still think a series based on the Memory Lane stories would be fun. It'd give us a chance to read new Archie stories set in the 1950s where the characters had more edge.

That would be amazing! Plus it would probably be fun for the Archie artists, having to try something new by drawing in the older styles. Smiley

Ok. I'm going to be a bit different here...

Frankie & Maria - Great potential, but we rarely see these two. It would also be appropriate with the growing Hispanic population in the US.

Lodge Enterprises - Lots of great ideas here as well. We do occasionally get a glimpse at Mr. Lodge's vast corporation, but does anyone really know what the company does? I know they own a lot of other companies as well, but that still doesn't explain what they do.

For my third vote, I went with Reggie. He hasn't had his own title in years, and there's a lot they could do with him.

Just curious. I notice a lot of people have mentioned how much untapped story potential Reggie has, and I honestly have never really seen it. What aspects of his character do you feel could be shown or what potential stories do you feel could be told with him in his own title?

Josie & the Pussycats (hopefully, they'd bring back some older characters as well) but, I just always love reading stories with these characters, whether they're in a sort of Scooby Doo type story, finding adventure through their travels in their band, or just hanging out and dealing with the Cabots...

Archie: The College Years - I figure this would be a good basis for some heavier story lines, some more realistic dilemmas, romances and adventures for the characters (and they don't all have to be college cliche instances), new teachers and classmates would be introduced and you'd get a bit more direction when it came to the career choices of the main group.

Riverdale - sort of a catch-all for all the other characters to get a bit more face time.

Just curious. I notice a lot of people have mentioned how much untapped story potential Reggie has, and I honestly have never really seen it. What aspects of his character do you feel could be shown or what potential stories do you feel could be told with him in his own title?

There was an intriguing story that showed Reggie asking his father for an allowance increase, and his father told him he'd have to get a job.  Then Reggie told himself that he couldn't bear the indignity of his friends seeing him having to work, so he drove far out of Riverdale to get a job in a camera shop in a small town.  The manager was reluctant to hire him because business was down, and Reggie told him if he hired him he'd turn the place around with his business savvy.  Of course, eventually by coincidence Reggie was discovered working there, and everyone from Riverdale clamored to the camera shop to see him working, and bought lots of film/cameras/flash in order to take pictures of it.

That story was short, but I liked it because it revealed a side of Reggie that you rarely see and included hints of the kind of things that could be explored further in other stories about him:
For one thing, his parents and his relationship with them.  The Mantles are some of those rarely-seen parents that often even differ in appearance from story to story, but I think there could be a lot of interesting things to be said about them.  Mr. Mantle is a wealthy newspaper editor, not as wealthy as Mr. Lodge but probably equally interesting in terms of his professional life, especially since he's in charge of stories about goings-on all over Riverdale.  How did he get his start?

Then, considering Reggie's arrogant and vain personality, we wonder how his parents raised him (Do they spoil him?  Do they not pay much attention to him, being busy with their social obligations?) and how they feel about how he's turned out.  Do they know about the pranks he pulls and try to discipline him?  Does he spend a lot of time hiding his activities from them?  Do they give him advice on how to treat girls?  Do they pressure him to excel, as in sports, or do they not care much about his sports prowess?

Then, Reggie himself.  The story above and a few others like it reveal that he's somewhat insecure and spends a lot of time maintaining a certain image of himself.  Does that take a toll on him?  How does he feel when the gang turns against him for being vain and cold-hearted?  Does he ever think of changing?

What about his love life?   We see him at various times after Veronica, Midge, Cheryl, and even interested in Betty.  What is the true basis of his attraction to any of these girls?  Which one does he "really" like, and why?  Could he fall in love?

Does he have no true friend he can confide in about any of these things?  Does he wish he did?

Various stories about Reggie now and then have addressed some of these issues, but I think there's room for many more.
