I have seen him in a number of comics as Riverdale's own "Bad Luck Chuck".
What's his background? When did he first appear? Are girls really immune to his bad luck vibes?

Anywhere he is seen, disaster lies in his wake. I remember when Archie, Jughead and Reggie thought blondes were immune to his effects. With this theory they purchased blonde wigs hoping to ward of his bad luck just to finds out that Betty, who befriended him earlier, had come down with the measles or the flu. They remove their wigs while a child is about to ram them with his go cart. Grin

Talk back and give information and valuable input on this character, including stories that you know. Smiley

There was one story I read about Ethel being a "lucky charm" for Jughead with Jinx Malloy. It seemed as if every time he wanted to get away from Ethel, Jinx was right there. It turned out that when Jughead dropped his lcky talisman at the supermarket, Ethel had picked up and wore it around her neck.

The only appearence I remember of his is when Archie and Jughead (?) were looking for a way to win a football game against a rival school with HUGE football players. As I recall, they got Jinx to sit on the other teams' side of the field and the Riverdale team won. Couldn't tell you where I saw it, although it seems like it was in a digest.

As much of a Jinx as Jinx is, there is someone who seems to be immune to his bad luck, and oddly enough, she's even more of a recurring character than Jinx is!  She goes by the name "Lucky Penny", and you can find a reprint of her first ever appearance in Archie Comics if you have a copy of Betty and Veronica Digest #32!

I read a story similar to that, but it was about the basketball team. When Riverdale was shooting at the end where Jinx was sitting, they couldn't make a basket at all. So they just convinced Jinx to sit at the other end of the gym for part of the game, then convinced him to go sit back where he was for the other half. Riverdale won the game easily after that.
