Looks like the wiki will not except quotation marks or apostrophes now, either in the titles or in the articles. :(

haven't played on the wiki since this morning. I tried to import an entire index from the GCD and it didn't take. Same error. I'll try again in a bit and see if I have the same problem...

I'm still looking into the issue. I can't reproduce it on any other installations of Mediawiki that I've tried (Wikipedia, mediawiki.org and the demo at opensourcecms.com), so I'm going to do a fresh install in another location on this server and go from there. It's either a problem with the way PHP is configured on this server or a problem with one of the extensions.

Just added some skeleton info to http://wiki.archiefans.com/Category:Titles. Not much just getting a feel for layout and such...

There isn't a way to do a mass import of titles and have it go into the right category is there? Otherwise, these all have to be loaded by hand...

Did some more work on the wiki today in Titles http://wiki.archiefans.com/Category:Titles. Added thumbnails and larger scans of the Halloween giveaways and am working on importing my modifed indexes on these books from the GCD.

Check out http://wiki.archiefans.com/Halloween_Giveaway All have thumbs and larger scans but only the first and third books have any info in them...

Ok. Quick update on this.

I have set up a test installation of Mediawiki elsewhere, and cannot reproduce the issue there no matter how hard I try.

I have modified the URLs for the wiki here so that the setup is nearly identical to the test installation (so it's currently at archiefans.com/wiki instead of wiki.archiefans.com).

Modifying the URLs does prevent it from busting apostrophes in the URL, but it still breaks the page titles.

So, it appears that the problem lies with the code for the forum integration - something is messing up the URLs.

I will look into this more later, but I have to go to class now.

Another update...

I have not been able to figure out exactly what is causing things to get screwed up - it's something in the forum's code that's causing the problem.

However, I think I have found a workaround - just pull the title from the URL before anything else gets loaded instead of having Mediawiki pull the title later on.

This seems to work fine with the longer URL (.../wiki/...), so I'm going to try it with the old format (wiki.archiefans.com/...) and see if that works as well.

Apologies for the errors you may have encountered in the process :)

One more update...

For some reason it gets itself into an infinite loop if I try the short URLs, so I've modified things to use the slightly longer ones again for now. I am looking into a better fix though - I have figured out what part of the forum code is causing this issue and am going to see if I can either undo what's being done or tell the forum to not do this at all. For now, enjoy being able to create articles with apostrophes in them :)
