try clicking on the top left of the screen in the Navigation Bar. Once there, click on the Community Portal.

Just an FYI for everyone... I'm planning to do some more work on the wiki soon.

Here are the plans:

1. Upgrade the software. There have been a couple of security patches since I installed it, and the really new versions (development versions) have a nice new skin (if you're a member of Wikipedia, check out the Modern skin) that I like better than the default one.

2. Find a way to fix the apostrophe issue so I can move it back to the subdomain (I know what's causing it - just need to find a better way to fix the issue).

3. Install a new extension to add some fun navigation features (basically this will give you a preview of an article if you hover over the article link).

4. Go back to the "Title:Name" and "Story:Name" format for Title and Story articles. Since I have an extension installed that allows us to change page names, we can still have nice-looking page titles while keeping things more organized. This will also make it easier for me to do the dynamic pages listing all issues in which a particular story appears.

I will keep everyone posted on the changes and any new features that I add.

Just a quick update. I am in the process of upgrading the wiki now. Due to it being so late and me being tired, I am just going to do the basic upgrade now and will do the rest tomorrow (upgrading extensions, changing the skin to Modern, etc.).

Just a quick update...

I uploaded all the new files and made the change required to change the skin to the new Modern skin. However, you may need to change your preferences to use this skin instead - simply go to the wiki and click on "My Preferences" and set the skin to Modern.

I will be upgrading the extensions and installing the gadgets tomorrow.

Sounds good, Oldiesmann. I have Spring Break in a few week and would like to add or start some new articles in the wiki including all the ads we've posted here, Al Hartley's alphabet, maybe starting a section for Forsythe's reprinted comic strips and a new section about Mary Smith's Archie books. Not sure I'll get them all done, but those are just some things percolating in my head. I did start a creators category a few days ago and put in some much needed navigation links on the portal, but you have a better way of doing then by all means please do.

Of course we still need a TON of work on the characters and creators if anyone wants to jump in. Here's another link to the main page:

This may have to do with your upgrade Oldiesmann but I just noticed that the red linked items error out now and the edit button on any article does the same thing.

It's probably related to the FCKeditor extension.

I'm working on upgrading the extensions and everything now though so I will take a look at it after I finish this upgrades in a few minutes.

Ok. Finished most of the upgrades (haven't done anything about the apostrophe issue yet -will work on that tomorrow).

Upgraded all the extensions (except for the forum integration one - not sure if there's a new version available or not).

Installed two new extensions: Gadgets with Navigation popups gadget and CategoryTree.

Fixed the issues with the FCKeditor extension - editing and creating pages will work fine with the editor enabled now.

Will work on the apostrophe issue and moving articles tomorrow or Monday.

As a reminder, the new skin is called "Modern" - if you have edited your preferences in the past, you will need to select the new skin from your preferences page in order to see it.

The navigation popups gadget can be enabled from the "Gadgets" section of your preferences page.

I'm going to be doing some more work on the wiki this weekend. There's a different integration available that should solve the original issue with apostrophes, which will then allow me to switch it back to the subdomain. Once I have more free time I'm going to start adding some content (mainly issues) and try out that dynamic page thing that will pull info about which issues a particular story appears in Smiley

Just a few quick updates on this...

I recently upgraded the wiki to the newest development version. I also upgraded the WYSIWYG editor to a newer version.

Also, I have implemented the new bridge and moved everything back to http://wiki.archiefans.com - the new bridge does not cause problems with apostrophes in URLs like the previous bridges did.

Enjoy!

One further update...

I have re-added the "Titles" and "Stories" namespaces. I am planning to add at least one title/story soon so I can give everyone an example of how things will be laid out. It may not make a lot of sense at the moment, but I feel that having separate title/story namespaces will help keep things more organized.

What's going on with this wiki?  I was looking at it today out of curiosty but there's all kinds of strange material on the "Books" page (some garbled stuff about "wellbutrin reflux").  I don't know how to fix it.

This looks like a great project and thanks to everyone who has worked on it: Oldiesmann, TM, Gregg....  I aspire to contribute one day, in the unlikely event that I ever find the time.

We may have a bug or a virus here. Maybe Oldiesmann can check the logs. Someone who has signed up on this forum is using the wiki for spam. I deleted everything that I saw was screwed up, but if anyone sees more feel free to fire off a note to me or Oldiesmann.
