New feature: Site Toolbar
« on: March 09, 2010, 12:52:44 PM »
I decided to add a toolbar to the page. Currently it's fairly simple, but I will probably be adding more items to it as I become more familiar with the platform. Let me know what you think!

Current features:
Ability to search the site from Google
Ability to translate the page
View the 5 most recent posts
See how many users are online
Subscribe to our RSS feed
Share the current page on various sites
See our latest Twitter posts
Chat with other users on the site

I am still playing with the system, so some features may change, and additional features might be added (in particular, there's a nifty "live notifications" feature that I want to play with).

Currently the toolbar is only visible on the default (orange) theme, but I can probably add it to a different theme as well if you want.

You can click on the down arrow thingy at the far right to shrink the toolbar.

I like it, too.  I especially appreciate your throwing in the translate button for members who want to navigate the forum and don't speak English as a first language, particularly since I have taken to navigating E-Bay and DVD distributors outside the U.S., and I appreciate when Google translates some of those sites.

You're quite welcome Surprise. I know Archie reaches a wide audience, and figured the Translate feature might be useful for those who don't speak English very well. If you need a language that's not on the list, let me know - I can add more.

I actually do not know where is the list to check the languages but do you have french in the list.
I like seeing others happy, especially my family.

Just click on "Translate" in the toolbar below - that will show you which languages you can currently choose (there are several dozen more - the ones I have are the default).

It kind of glitches up on my computer. :/

Can  you give me more details?
