  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

Can we have a TMNT thread?
« on: May 12, 2011, 11:41:10 AM »
I remember that Archie did TMNT for a while, so let's talk about it.
I think that artist Norm Breyfogle has shown remarkable restraint by not having Mr. Lodge twirl his mustache in every panel as the character's evil traits become more and more defined.-Chris Cummins http://www.toplessrobot.com/2011/04/the_10_craziest_moments_from_life_with_archie_the.php

If I took a shot at writing an Archie movie, would anyone mind?
Only 12 credits to go before I can purchase a sticky post.

I think I read Mirage actually did the comic, but Archie did the distribution, production, etc. I think.

Anyways, a really great comic book.  And I liked how it slowly evolved and became more complex.  The whole time traveling storyline with Armagon, Verminator X, one-eyed Raph, etc. was fantastic.  I also liked Ninjara.  She was a cute couple with Raph. xd

I need to find these for sale somewhere.  It would certainly be a nostalgia trip since I read these when I wa a kid.

I still have a huge chunk of those. Easily the best TMNT comic. Nice stupid specials and I was a huge Mighty Mutanimal fan.

Actually, I think one of the first disturbing moments I had in comics as a kid was when the Gang of Four (Cybernetic assassins from the future) gunned down the Mutanimals.

Why Null has not be used since in TMNT related materials is beyond me because he was great.

I have the whole set of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classics Digest series.  I admit that the serial wasn't a bad one...still had to get used to Raphael wearing that black bodysuit though.

Reading these as a digest would be strange.  I think continuity was certainly prominent in the series.  And I had no idea they released digests.  I guess they pretty much "digested" everything.  lol

I think they only did like six digests. I'm pretty sure they stopped just when the TMNT had to go to Japan to save the Warrior Dragon. That's about when the series picked up and took a serious tone.

And I liked black suit/wrestling gear Raph. I took a black and marker to one of my classic Raph figures to try and get that look. ...I think I did okay. :)

I think seven were released overall.  The most recent one I have is #7.

They did one, but it ony covers the original mini-series I think.

Don't give a hoot about those sewer-dwelling reptiles because I was already too old for them at the time. ::)

(Goes off to play with Transformers and My Little Pony.)

I got to experience both due to 80's Transformers reruns.  They never showed My Little Pony though, which kind of upsets me. It looks like the heroin of cute eye candy.  O___O

Are those the issues that followed the cartoon series?

I know Archie comics put out a graphic novel based on the first TMNT movie back in 1990.  I own it.
