  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)
    May 21, 2012, 07:23:13 AM
  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

  • Biollante: I'm just glad he's giving back to his fans by revisiting Blade Runner and Alien with Prometheus, I'm sure he's going to deliver too, his legacy as a film maker is on the line since those are his more iconic films

  • Biollante: gonna be hard for anyting to catch up, Ridley Scott is pretty much the top of dark visual design imo, and he drew a lot from Moebius for that film, most fillm makers are not really connected to aestheticas of good fantasy film making in the same way

After the upgrade: To-do list, new features
« on: November 18, 2009, 12:54:30 PM »
Now that the upgrade is mostly complete, I thought I'd take the time to alert you to the new features and also a few things still on my "to do" list...

New features include:
WYSIWYG editor - makes formatting posts easier for those not familiar with bbcode
Ability to choose how many posts/topics to show per page

New PM-related features: Rules (ability to sort incoming PMs based on certain criteria), display modes (different layouts for your inbox - my favorite being the "Conversation" mode)

New notification options: If you have chosen to be notified of new topics for several boards and/or new replies for several topics, you can now choose to get all notifications in a single "digest" once per day or once per week.

Birthday emails: The forum will now automatically send you a "happy birthday" message on your birthday :)

And now, the "To Do" list:
Import the links from the old link system
Fix the look of the "Gallery Image" button on the post page

Fix the wiki integration
Add a menu block and take some of the items out of the forum menu to make it less crowded
Add the options to change the style of your name in posts to the shop
Re-install the "related topics" add-on
Re-install the add-on to allow you to view individual categories

If you have any questions or run into any problems, let me know. I have to work from 2:30-10 today but will answer questions as I have time and will fix any remaining issues when I get home.
