  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

  • Biollante: gonna be hard for anyting to catch up, Ridley Scott is pretty much the top of dark visual design imo, and he drew a lot from Moebius for that film, most fillm makers are not really connected to aestheticas of good fantasy film making in the same way

Foreign languages...
« on: November 01, 2007, 04:28:53 PM »
Just wanted to post about an idea I have for the board in the future...

For some time now, I have been using Google Analytics to keep track of various details about this site's visitors (country, what browser they use, the language they have their browser set to, etc.), and have noticed an increasing number of visitors whose main language isn't English.

In order to include these visitors in the fun of this site, I have two ideas in mind:

1. Install additional language packs to make the forum menu and various other parts of the forum available in other languages.
2. Create a new "International" section with boards for discussing Archie in various languages.

What are your thoughts on these ideas?

I personally love the idea of having an "international" Archie board, but I don't speak any foreign languages (I do know some German, but not enough to do much with it), so I'm going to have to recruit others to help with the foreign language boards...

The more posting fans, the better! If it's not too much work on your part, I say go for it.

It wouldn't be a single board ronnie - it would be a category with a separate board for each language (Spanish, Italian, etc.).

Before I do that though I need to find some international Archie fans who can help moderate things for me - I don't want to have international boards without having people who know the language to keep things under control :)
