  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

  • Biollante: gonna be hard for anyting to catch up, Ridley Scott is pretty much the top of dark visual design imo, and he drew a lot from Moebius for that film, most fillm makers are not really connected to aestheticas of good fantasy film making in the same way

Where do I post this topic?
« on: June 12, 2008, 02:38:20 PM »
I want to ensure that I post a topic in the right "area" on the forums.  What I wanted to start were some topics on original artwork that folks have collected from their favourite Archie artists.

To be honest, I'm also hoping to find a way to collect some art from some artists as well.  I have quite a few originals from Dan Parent (whoo-hooo!) - some of which you can see here:

http://gallery.mac.com/bergdoll#100161   (I have about 47 more that I need to photograph and post)

I also have just purchased some Dan DeCarlo pages, but desperately want a cover of his.

Needless to say - I am also very interested in getting covers from ALL the currently working artists at Archie.  It's an aspect of the hobby that I find very enjoyable.

Anyhow.... Where can I start the topics?  Where should they go?
No matter where I go, there I am.  Creepy.

At first glance, I'd probably start with the Trading Post.  Quite a few of us (myself included) have posted want lists there.  Maybe you could do the same with your quest for art.

I definitely see your passion for collecting the original art though.  I own four original Dan Parent sketches myself. :)

If you're looking to sell use the trading post. If it's Archie art, the main forum Everything's Archie is fine. For non Archie stuff, post it in general. And dropping all your scans in the gallery regardless of which forum ou use provides everyone a single place for looking at them. :)
