  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

  • Biollante: gonna be hard for anyting to catch up, Ridley Scott is pretty much the top of dark visual design imo, and he drew a lot from Moebius for that film, most fillm makers are not really connected to aestheticas of good fantasy film making in the same way

The movie wasn't as awful as the reviewers and INTERNET fanboys made it out to be.  It's not perfect, by any means, and has some weaknesses, but my family and I thought it was a fun summer film.  Green Lantern does some cool stuff with the ring and, after all, isn't that all you'd really expect from a Green Lantern movie?

I don't know, it just looked too cheesey to sit through.  Maybe if the thing woudln't have been 99 percent CGI and very fake looking CGI judging by the trailers.  I'm really tired of CGI.  I'm glad Ridley Scott is using traditional effects, costumes, and sets for his new Alien film.  God knows any other director would do the entire thing in front of a green screen.

There's also the lead.  I'm not a big fan of him.

I think it's kind of good that super hero movies are now judged to a higher standard.  It means Marvel and DC will be kept to the fire in regards to cranking out better films.

Yeah...I have to agree about Ryan Reynolds.  I do think that he's not a terrible actor, but I don't think the superhero genre is his style.  Though, I imagine that he'll try his best.

...The " or " part was meant to be followed by " Eminem's DJ " !!!!!!!!!
Remmber , that Eminem's DJ calls himself DJ Green Lantern ?
( Perhaps he uses the old " railroad colors of lanterns " things that was the inspiration for the original Green Lantern origiin in the Golden Age as his excuse there . Anyway , it would appear DC benefited some from that anyway since...)
I have seen a lot of people in this decade wearing Green Lantern ring logo T-shirts, just the ring , etc. , no Hal Jordan or Alan Scott , etc.... and I do assume that " riding it back " , so to speak , sales of such shirts helped along by the Eminem DJ helped...
