  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

Hey there.

I'm a Simpsons Comics collector, the name's Gary. Oldiesmann should recognise who I am, since we're both on the SMF team. ;)

Since I'm a Simpsons Comics collector, I was going to post a new topic, but I figure I'd post here. :P The cover is indeed a parody of Arche #1. Here it is:

Though the "COMICS" part of the logo has a white background for each letter. Which every issue has.

The story is a vision of Comic Book Guy going to a fortune teller (the same one who told Lisa the story of her wedding in the show) to tell him his future, but he falls asleep with a copy of Arche #1 to read, and the two are mixed. In the story, Bart tries to save Apu's store from being demolished by Mr. Burns, so he and his friends enter a battle of the bands, to win $5,000. Bart also somehow arranges a date with both Sherri and Terri on the same night.

I'm not into Archie enough to be able to identify all the characters that get portrayed, aside from Bart portraying Archie, since all the characters call him "Bartchie" and Milhouse is Jughead.

Good to see you Gary :)

I may have to pick up that comic next time I go to the comic shop.

I know the Simpsons have spoofed Archie comics on the TV show, so it was only inevitable that the comic book series would get the same treatment.

(BTW, is anyone else shocked that the comic is at issue 183?  I didn't think that many were published!)

Yeah, that happened in the episode where Sideshow Bob ran for mayor. I have a site filled with images from episodes.

Why should it be surprising? Given how old the Simpsons is. The comic series started in 1993. :P

There's more than those 183 issues, there's a whole load of other series. Such as Bart Simpson, Super Spectacular, Treehouse of Horror, Winter Wingding and Summer Shindig.

...Yes , it's a good parody...And , though I did not notice it on the first read (  Because I read it very fast , for one . ) , it is penciled by...STAN GOLDBERG !!!! :)!!!!!!! :D ;D
And, inked by Andrew Pepoy as well , who come to think of it I don't think I've seen in any Archies of late :smiley6600:. :police:
