  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)
    May 21, 2012, 07:23:13 AM
  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

  • Biollante: gonna be hard for anyting to catch up, Ridley Scott is pretty much the top of dark visual design imo, and he drew a lot from Moebius for that film, most fillm makers are not really connected to aestheticas of good fantasy film making in the same way

...Aam , you've given me an opening to say/inquire something quite SPECTACULARLY nerdy about the 3-D of " TLK "  :)...
  Here in the U.S. , since " Avatar " began the " modern " 3-D era , there have been about 3 , maybe 4 , 3-D systems used in theaters ( Rather recalling , methinks , the 50s " wide-screen " explosion , when the best-known system , Cinemascope , had competitors from other companies - Todd-AO , VistaVistion , Warnervision , etc.  :D  )
  There has been a " Disney 3-D " system , I suppose , logically enough , only offered on Disney/affiliated studios'?? 3-D releases , another has been named " TRUE 3-D " , if I've got the name right...
I recall that , when I saw TLK 3-D at a cineplex in downtown Santa Cruz , it was presented in " Disney 3-D " ( I might have the precise trademark names a little off here , just to caution you !!!!!!! ;D :police: ) , but the 3-D glasses i Got were for True 3-D , that's what they said on the wrapping for them ( I kept the wrapping + glasses for a coupla days post-the showing but eventually threw 'em both out . )
Is it in True 3-D outside of North America , say  ??????????? :o NA and Europe ???

They should release the Kimba (aka Jungle Emperor Leo) manga here, but there's some BS over publishers not wanting to due to how Tezuka drew the natives or something.

That is NERDY, with a capital N. I got lost after the 2nd line. :)

What I meant by 'TRUE' 3D was live actors. It was a fantastic performance by Cirque de Soleil. So, it's more of a ballet or musical adaptation of the real thing.

They were showing for some time at Place Des Arts, Montreal too. Don't know if it's still on.

They usually do a second tour around the same time every year if the response is good.
