  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: gonna be hard for anyting to catch up, Ridley Scott is pretty much the top of dark visual design imo, and he drew a lot from Moebius for that film, most fillm makers are not really connected to aestheticas of good fantasy film making in the same way

A colorful Fly
« on: August 03, 2008, 05:11:30 AM »
The Archie Heroes over at the Mighty Crudsaders Handbook had a cover concept sketch, and it was a little hard to see as a gif. But Greg was nice enough to color it.

Thanks Greg,
It looks great!

A situation like this should never exist - then why are we out of control?

Thanks Zach and Rik. I had fun doing it, except that's the actual size!  :o :o  I had to blow it up to 400% to get some of the colors right. Then I stole an idea from Aya and decided to make it a spotlight. I did a basic coloring job, then covered it completely in a 1/2 grey tone then erased the gray that I wanted to look like a spotlight. I thought it turned out pretty good, but I figured I subjected you all to too much Crusader stuff lately and didn't post it here. But I'm glad Rik did, and I'm glad you liked it, Rik. I'm still working on another tiny Crusaders cover Rik sent me a month or so ago-- it's not even this big!  :o ;D

Phil found the ad for the cover and Greg was nice enough to color it for us.

here's the original file Rik sent me....

again that's the actual size, and the pic that was sent had this awful yellowy gold color. I had to strip it out before I could start any actual coloring. The size on this one really made it difficult to see what was going on, and admittedly alot of the time I guessed. I now see that the Shield's stripes might be off and i forgot to color the window! OOPS!!! :)

Anyway, glad you liked it Rik. :)

I still think it's amazing that you were able to make out all those figures, Gregg. Great job! :)
