  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: gonna be hard for anyting to catch up, Ridley Scott is pretty much the top of dark visual design imo, and he drew a lot from Moebius for that film, most fillm makers are not really connected to aestheticas of good fantasy film making in the same way

Well, Dobie Gillis was based on the book THE MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS by Max Shulman.  I haven't read it so I don't know how closely the show follows the novel.  Incidentally, DC's comic adaptation of the show, drawn by Bob Oskner and written probably by Arnold Drake, is a hoot.

Okay, understand, WEST SIDE STORY was a stage production several years before the movie ever came out. The song were all written for the stage production which came out in 1957. So, Judy Garland was singing them because of the popularity of the live show, not the film, and she was NOT the first to sing those songs, even though she may have sung them before Russ Tamblyn did.

Ha Ha! Yeah, he probably wants to marry a 13 year old girl who wears a Jughead hat...against the law in most states I believe.

I'm just giddy with excitment! That was very nice of him. Ya know, I have a photo of myself with Larry Storch from the TV show F TROOP! But it cost me $5.00 for the privilage.

BTW, I honestly think "Happy Days Again" is a live-action rip-off of Archie comics, am I right?:)

(Yes, I'm old enough to remember Gilligan's Island, Bewitched, and The Brady Bunch because I grew up during that period!XD)

So do we wanna make of list of movies/tv shows that were inspired/ripped off from Archie and the gang?

Adventures of Dobie Gillis
Happy Days
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Scooby Doo (before Scrappy Doo entered the pic)
High School Musical

Any others? I feel like I'm missing a TON....

Gregg
