  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

My new pet kitten
« on: September 03, 2011, 11:54:08 AM »
Last Saturday, mom suggested walking for exercise. I suggested we walk to the flea market, since it was Saturday. Mom didn't like the idea of having to walk on the grass by the side of the road, but she was like "If you want to walk to the flea market, go. You can see if they have kittens here. If they do, you can call me, and I can come with the car." Well, they didn't.

This morning, shortly, around 9:30 AM, I decided to drive to the flea market. I found a bunch of free kittens, including pure white ones (mom's stated preference). After driving to Wal-Mart to okay it with mom, she said get a male, so I went back to the flea market and did so.

Right now, his favorite place is under the couch against the back wall of the living room. He's got a very cute meow.

We don't have a name yet, and mom has yet to see him. I'm calling him Kate Bosworth for now. :P

Charming!

But wouldn't he try to get at your birds, though?:)

Looks like he's making himself at home.

Hope you enjoy the new pet. We've got 3 cats at my house and it's a lot of fun

On October 21, Misiu managed to jump onto the table that the bird cages are on.

The next evening, he knocked over Squeaky and Sunshine's cage. It landed on the floor behind the table, creating a mess. They were okay.

Mom decided Misiu would stay outside during the day, and he'd be brought home at night to sleep in a cage in the dining room.

Well, two days ago, mom locked him in his old room (dad's bathroom) between the time that she went to work and I woke up. I took these pictures of him:

Yesterday, while I was at work, her coworker's husband came over to try to repair the sliding door in our dining room. Since the doorway was wide open, mom "stop trying to fight with" Misiu and even let him into the rest of the house (which she'd forbidden before).

She even let him watch "Once Upon a Time" with us last night, but he kept running around and playing with her curtains, so she had me lock him in his room (but not his cage) after the first act.

Then she remembered the mouse traps that she'd placed recently and said he can't be let into the rest of the house anymore.

This morning, I took Misiu to a spay/neuter clinic at around 7:45 AM. The clinic called at around 3:54 PM. He (yes, it's confirmed to be a he) is in recovery, and I can pick him up at 5:15 PM, so I'm gonna leave when mom gets home from work. His breed was labeled as "Siamese mix". I'm not sure what that means. I'll ask.

Oh, yeah, I realized I never gave his name. Mom named him Misiu (pronounced MEE-shoo). It's Polish for "little bear".

When mom came home, she wanted to go with me to pick up Misiu. After going to the office, we had to wait in a waiting area outside, and he was brought outside. He's disoriented, and he might throw up, so we had to lock him in his cage in his room after giving him only a bit to eat (he was a drunk pedestrian for a while as he attempted to run all over the place, constantly falling over). We were advised to keep him inside for 5-10 days and not bathe him for 10 days.

Misiu sounds very close to Misha, the mascot of the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games.

And also the name of a very popular Russian Children's Magazine !

I love Kitties. It looks like Mishiu is a playful kitty. I love the picture of the kitty with the bird.

He is adorable! I can see how he's a Siamese mix. He has the long features (snout, tail, body) of one, while the coat color is of a different breed.

He reminds me of the kittens we used to have: Jojo, Bruce, Vicky (who turned out to be a male) and Cory. After we took them to the shelter, we had another one named Buzz (short of Buzz Lightyear, but everyone agreed to eliminate the last name) who acted just like Misiu, so we had to lock him in the basement.
When it comes to food Archie Comics, I'm an expert.
