  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

The "How Was Your Day?" Thread
« on: July 18, 2008, 12:03:10 PM »
One or two weeks ago, I was reading a shoutbox comment by Honeybee about how multiple conversations can make the shoutbox really confusing to read through, and that there should be a thread where people (who are really that easily confused by the shoutbox at times) can find it easier to talk about what has been going on.

I'm not saying that this thread should replace the shoutbox - if anything, they should complement each other. Simply put, this thread is for those who can't type fast enough to keep up with the shoutbox, ie those whose first language is not English (eg Honeybee) and those who type much slower on a laptop than on a proper keyboard (eg yours truly).

While this thread is meant to just rant/talk about your day, as I said, it can also be used as a less-confusing substitute for the shoutbox, so feel free to talk about anything under the sun. However, do watch what you talk about; try to keep the swearing out or censor it if you really need to swear, and anything that is not meant to be discussed, ie the more classified aspects of my particular job, should not be discussed.

I'll start...

While I'm still not really keen on army life, I'll have to say that it really has helped me a lot in the sense that I now know how to deal with riff-raff (you'll find that the majority of non- (commissioned) officers fit under that category), and that my physical fitness has improved tremendously. Despite being medically unfit for combat, I was able to run 12km earlier this morning (Singapore time) in just over an hour. More or less non-stop, even though I made three 15-second pit stops to keep myself hydrated.

No wonder I feel good about myself, and it's also no wonder that I actually look much more... ahem... handsome than I was two years ago.

So, how was YOUR day?

My dad was okay. I watched episode 11 (English) and episode 12 (Japanese) of Gundam Wing and worked on episode 27 of my Gundam fanfic series.

Betty Cooper + Cheryl Blossom. It's inevitable.

It's kinda humiliating when you know your younger brother earns more in three weeks than you do in a month. Just realised that when I was shopping earlier this evening; bought quite a fair load of CDs, graphic novels and magazines.

Memo to self: get a (censored)-ing part-time job when I am in university back home in Australia next year.

At least I should be incorporate some of the playing styles of the bands I've picked up into my own playing. Even though, as a bassist, I am influenced by Henkka Blacksmith (of the melodic death metal band Children Of Bodom), I would like to make my playing more energetic, something along the lines of the screamo/post-hardcore band Story Of The Year.

It was fine. Yesterday, I inked a few pics for coloring and listened to my younger sister sing songs all day (she crazy, I know :P). In the morning, I finished watching the rest of the episodes on the Archie's Funhouse DVD set I bought, then I analyzed my other computer (it's kinda infected right now). And today, It's the usual.
When it comes to food Archie Comics, I'm an expert.

Hunted for my favorite paintbrush, played some games on my computer, hunted for my paintbrush again, cleaned up my apartment a little, worked on some art, washed dishes, hunted for my paintbrush, rearranged my library books on my coffee table, drew a little, FINALLY found my paintbrush, scanned some Archie pictures, cooked leftover pasta and ate it, worked on some art, got off computer to lay down, took shower, getting ready to take a walk soon for my daily exercise.

I'm not sure if this is in perfect order. ??? And - I really need some pens, too. ::)

My day would have been much better if my leg muscle wasn't acting up again.  I'm very sore today!

What is really annoying is that the doctor doesn't think that there's anything wrong with it!

Advil is quickly becoming my new best friend!

My mom called me, told me she couldn't find our dog. (the dog is really old). WEll last night it rained and my mom accidently left him out in the rain. Well I came to the house. Looked around for 5 minutes was like this is stupid. I totally thought the dog was dead or something. Decided to post an ad on craigslist, but then had another idea. Look at the lost and found ads. Guess what, someone posted an ad about finding a dog, real close to my moms house, sounded like it was him. I called the lady. And knew it was him. She found him running in the rain, dodging cars, she said he was so frightened. Aww. Well she took him home, and fed him, Thank God she posted that ad.
Craigslist can be bad sometimes. But times like this, it was awesome!!

Down with a mild viral infection, and the flippin' medical officer only gave me panadol and cough syrup. Would've been nice if I received real antibiotics (even it's the generic SAF antibiotic), but hey, this is the Singapore Armed Forces.

More or less worked on my paperwork and indented the cookhouse rations for my Company's personnel.

Emptied out some comic boxes for the missus (her bookstore got flooded the other day during a intense summer storm during a time when their roof was repaired) arranged another meeting for my autistic son for a Certified Family Home on Monday, worked at the library cataloging books, deleting books, fixing computer problems, and being a general nuisance. Also got roped into being a "suspect" in a young adult murder mystery this morning (I play a pool shark who is best friends with the victim. I've never won a pool tournement because HE's always won. I'm easy-going, and maybe just a little too slick.) Came home, played with the boy for an hour, checked email, gave the Missus a backrub/footrub ( she was VERY sore from moving books all day yesterday), then passed out.

Pretty much a typical day for me.... no hour is unfilled....  ;D :o ::)

and on an unrelated note, this is my 1700th post here at the site. ACF27 also hit this milestone yesterday! Hoohaw!
