I've begun a project of sorts and thought I would let you all in on it. As it begins to bear fruit I will post scans here.
Years ago, whenever I went to a comic convention or met an artist, I would ask them to draw a little picture over the Canadian $1 bill (which should tell you how long ago it was! We have a coin now). It was really cool - because each would have a creative "take" on the bill. I only have half a dozen or so, but they are pretty neat!
My new "art challenge" for artists will be to create their interpretation of the classic "Three on a soda" image. Veronica, Archie, and Betty. For the Archie artists that I meet/contact - this will be the character set.
However, what if I meet artists that are not Archie artists? Well! In that case, I will still ask them for the the "Three on a Soda", but instead of Archie sharing with B&V - I'll ask them to insert their main character of the time in place of Archie.
So if I ever meet someone like Jeff Smith, it would be Veronica, Bone, Betty. If I meet Frank Cho, it would be Veronica, Brandy, Betty (oooo....dang! - I hope I meet him!)
It will be great to see how this project progresses!
