Love those old Archie's!  - Comic Shop?  Auction site?  - I can never seem to find any Archie books Sad

I did grab another video game "Fallout 3" for the XBox 360.

I'm also looking around to see if I can find a HDMI-in converter for my Mac Pro.  I want to take my PS3 and XBox 360 HDMI signal and play it through the computer onto the Apple Cinema display.  This is much harder than I think it needs to be !  grrr!

The worst part is that I can't seem to find any resources on how to even start this search.  I *think* that some products from a company called Blackmagic might work, but there isn't a local reseller in the area.

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
$31.79 total at Gamestop

Playing Order of Ecclesia right now. Smiley

Also recently picked up Legend of Kage 2.
Lots of fun and quite difficult... it's very similar to the original 1987 NES version.

I just recently closed up some gaps in my Archie regular series collection, got all of the 500's issues I was missing (was roughly around 50 books) and have a streak now from 166-590!

Bought some songs over the Aussie iTunes shop. I dare say that the best purchase I made would be the The Archies Christmas Album (Feat. Betty and Veronica). Has a pop-rock kind of feel to it, complete with (gasp!) country-style guitar solos.

This was a good week for comic book finds.  I got some nice copies of comics that I never expected.  Early 1960's Archie comics usually are pretty beat.

First is the first issue of B&V Summer Fun from 1960.  A white cover that's still white after 48 years.

I also was lucky enough to find a nice copy of the third issue fom 1962.

The ripples in the covers are normal from this time period because the covers were glued on to the giant size books and usually had the ripples.

Those. Are. GORGEOUS!!

I bid on quite a few items at the "Fur Ball" which had a silent auction. I'm glad I was outbid on most of the things I'd bid on though!

Beyond that: New screen, etc. for the front door since I locked myself out and didn't have a garage door opener in the car I'd driven that day and usually use the garage door when leaving/coming home. >_<,

Nice find Jeff. I vaguely remember that series. As I recall, it was another cartoon made to promote a toy.

This weeks comics:
Betty & Veronica Spectacular #86
Archie Digest #249  - hey!  next issue is a "mini" milestone - 250.

As you probably can guess - I collect many other comics - so there are too many to list all the ones I bought this week, but there is one of note: Uncle Scrooge #382.  Always a great title, but this one has a great Magica De Spell back cover poster by Don Rosa.  It's worth at least taking a look at the back cover the next time you are in a comic shop ... if they even stock the title.  I have to "special" order it.

There's also another series I am really loving - The Spirit.  There's a history to the series that is pretty impressive - check out the Spirit Archives if you get a chance.  Anyone touching the character better bring their "A" game to it.  In this case, it seems everyone touching it is!  Very, very impressive run thus far!

I went to Gamestop twice today.

DVDs:

Optimus Prime Megatron: The Ultimate Battle - $1.50 plus tax
Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game Duel Masters Guide - $0.30 plus tax
$1.91 total

8th & Ocean: The Complete First Season - $1.95 plus tax
G.I. Joe: Valor vs Venom - $1.20 plus tax
$3.34 plus tax

I'm not sure what the Transformers disc is. Gamestop's sticker says "Transformers Armada: Best Battles", but the box has the G1 Transformers logo. An employee guessed that it was a toy pack-in DVD.

I've never heard of "8th & Ocean", but I thought I'd try it out for such a low price. It turns out to be an MTV series about models in Miami, recorded in the "fake documentary" style that they seem to like so much.

75% off sale + Gamestop card discount = Win!
