  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

"NEW KIDS" INVADE ARCHIE COMICS!

New York, NY (September 15, 2010): Archie Comics' world renowned high schoolers, Archie, Betty and Veronica, are about to have their mostly quaint and peaceful high school become anything but, as 50 new students storm the halls of Riverdale High!

Budget cuts mean school closings, and now the students of Pine Point are forced to find a new home at Riverdale High... but will Archie and his friends be outclassed by the new kids? The crossover epic starts October 13, 2010 with ARCHIE & FRIENDS #148, "New Kids Off the Wall: Part 1" as Archie and the gang struggle to defend their "reps" as the toughest, brightest, trickiest, trendiest and... Archie-est of Riverdale!

Written by Archie Comics' award-winning writer Alex Simmons, the six issue storyline crosses over 5 of the company's 6 comic book format titles from start to finish: ARCHIE & FRIENDS #148, ARCHIE #614, BETTY & VERONICA #250, ARCHIE & FRIENDS #149, BETTY #189, and VERONICA #204

"One of the things we don't always get to do with the regular cast of Archie characters is shake up the status quo," says 'New Kids' writer Alex Simmons. "Adding these new supporting characters presents challenges to and provides more 'play area' for our lead characters. It also opens a door to even more fun and character development."

"New Kids Off the Wall" Part 1 of 6 begins the battle in ARCHIE & FRIENDS #148, starting October 13th.
ARCHIE #614 continues "New Kids Off the Wall" on October 20th with Part 2 of 6 as Archie becomes the "Dippy Diplomat" between the kids of Riverdale and Pine Point.
And stay tuned on October 27 as BETTY & VERONICA #250 reveals a fashion face-off and more in "New Kids Off the Wall"Part 3 of 6 with "What I Like About ... Me!"
For more information on the "New Kids Off the Wall" grand six-issue super Archie crossover event and soon to be revealed exclusive sneak peeks at complete Archie Comics-authorized "New Kid" bios, stay tuned to ArchieComics.com!

Betty Cooper + Cheryl Blossom. It's inevitable.

And so it begins... Archie Comics and the yearly mega-crossover event.  This strategy is working out so well for other comic book companies.

On the other hand, great looking work by Rex Lindsey.

I have a question...will this crossover event be released in a hardcover collection?

The reason I ask is because some floppy comics I can't regularly get...I can get Archie, Archie & Friends, and Betty with some regularity...but Veronica, Betty & Veronica, and Jughead, I have great difficulty finding.
