Archie's Sunday Best
« on: December 30, 2011, 01:49:04 PM »
Coming in March from IDW Publishing...

Bob Montana (w & a & c)
Continuing the Eisner Award-winning series of the rare Archie newspaper strips by Bob Montana, we turn our attention to his remarkable full-color Sunday pages. Archie's Sunday Best is the first-ever collection of the late 1940s and early 1950s color Sunday strips. Montana is approaching the peak of his creative of his juices in these pages, which feature classic Archie themes and characters.
HC  FC  $49.99  160 pages  9.25" x 12" ISBN 978-1-61377-152-5

Bullet points:
Edited by Eisner Award-winner Dean Mullaney.

A tad bit on the pricey side, but I'm sure it will be well worth the price, just as all of their other Archie collections have been.

FIFTY DOLLARS?!?!?

The book better be hardcovered and SHOULD have like twelve hundred pages for that amount!

You can pre-order this at Amazon.com for $31.49. It's a beautiful, large format hardcover book. That's the same price as 8 poor quality double digests.  Really not a bad deal, especially considering the quality and love that has been put into previous IDW published Archie books.

When will IDW reprint the Archie 1960's and early 1970's Bob Montana comic strips, mostly the Sundays?

I'm not sure dth. Probably sometime in the coming years. They have a lot of ground to cover in that area.
