  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

Ugh. I don't know about the stories in the book, but the 1960s is one of the most overrated decades ever.

Decades always look better in retrospect. There WAS a lot of great music that came out of the 60s. I lived through the 60s, but as a child, so I can only judge it from that perspective.

The 1960s is my favourite decade. My favourite musicians, fashions and catch phrases all stemmed from the 1960s.

Offline Captain Hero

Although I missed the 1960's, I have to admit, it does look like a cool decade to have experienced.

Offline Banshee

I was born 1971, so guess I missed 1960s, too.;)

But 1960s were obviously so groovy it reverberated through decades to come.:)

Offline MJBivouac

One of my favorite 60s moments was the first moon landing. That was a BIG deal when i was a kid. As a matter of fact, the landing took place on my birthday!  I remember Bat-mania when BATMAN came to TV,  and the BEATLES on the Ed Sullivan show. Less cool things I recall were John F.,  Bobby Kennedy's, and Martin Luthor King's assassinations.

I'm looking forward to this volume!  The '60s and the early '70s Archie comic books had lots of "Good Girl Art!"

Good Girl Art?

As you can tell, I'm not a comic geek.

That's okay!  It basically means drawings of gorgeous girls.

I have the first 60's book.  Most of the stories are feature Dan DeCarlo.  I noticed a few couple of  Harry Lucey, and some artists I don't know the names of. It's a good book, and I definitely want the second one.

By the way, how can a decade you didn't live through be overrated?

By the way, how can a decade you didn't live through be overrated?

Just from hearing people talk about it. Personally, I think that the music (ESPECIALLY The Beatles) is vastly overrated, most of the "classic" cartoons (with the exception of "The Flintstones") weren't very funny, the whole hippie thing looks dumb, etc.

The birth of rock and roll as considered overrated? Beatles, Stones, Who, Dylan, and all the rest? The Civil Rights Movement? There are ups and downs in every decade but how can you disparage the Civil Rights Movement? Do you not like all of the Beatles or just their early work? Usually, people who don't go for the Beatles go for the Rolling Stones. You don't like either of them?

Offline VeronicaFan

Tuxedo Mark: The 60's are overrated as compared to what--the '80's?  The '90's?  Is anything you don't understand and haven't experienced, but have a visceral dislike for because of what you heard someone say "overrated?"   If you hate the 1960's don't buy the book.  I think you make these negative comments to try to stir up a reaction.  I'm not biting anymore.
