  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.
    May 21, 2012, 07:57:37 AM
  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)
    May 21, 2012, 07:23:13 AM
  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

AOL's 10 Coolest Cartoon Rockers

 1] The Chipmunks
 2] Gorillaz
3] The Archies
4] Josie & the Pussycats
 5] Bart Simpson
6] Fat Albert and the Junkyard Gang
 7] Dethklok
 8] Jem & the Holograms
 9] Crazy Frog
10] Faith + 1

Coolest Cartoon Rockers: No. 3

The Archies
When They Rocked: 1968-69
The Archies were the Beatles of virtual bands -- innovators whose sugary hooks and catchy choruses spawned a legion of inferior imitators (The Bedrock Rockers, Jabberjaw). The Riverdale High quintet scored several hits in the late '60s, but 'Sugar, Sugar'-- the No. 1 song of 1969 -- remains the band's claim to fame.

Coolest Cartoon Rockers: No. 4

Josie & the Pussycats
When They Rocked: 1970-74
The Go-Go's, L7 and every other female rock group in history has Josie & the Pussycats to thank for leading the charge. The feline power trio looked adorable, rocked hard and still had time to solve crimes between gigs. A limited-edition CD of the group's songs was released in 2001, shortly after Rachel Leigh Cook donned Josie's ears for a live-action big-screen adaptation.

That list is so wrong!

Jem and the Holograms are the best!

Betty Cooper + Cheryl Blossom. It's inevitable.

Crazy Frog? I can't stand him. I think the Archies should have been first with The Pussycats second. Congratulations anyway to (apart from The Archies), Jeff Barry, Ron Dante, Toni Wine and Donna Marie among others for the wonderful music they made.

I do agree with the Beatles reference. It is why I love both bands. Both the Beatles and the Archies have songs with wonderful melody and lyrics that are easy to sing along to. One moment they're singing a upbeat love song like "Bang Shang A Lang" or "All My Loving" or a philosophical song like "Mr Factory" or "Across the Universe"

I still can't believe it's number 3 on the list when I first saw the title of this topic, I thought it was going to be somewhat lower.  But number three?  That's pretty cool. I'd rahter it be number one, but hey!  That's a good place in the top ten.  The songs they made are pretty good.
When it comes to food Archie Comics, I'm an expert.
