  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

I hope Carol gets to become a recurring character. I'd like to see her and Chuck have some stories together. Considering that there are more female comic readers these days, I think Archie comics is doing the right thing in creating Carol.

As for B&V Spectacular, have any of you noticed that Dan Parent has a penchant for drawing characters from the side and that except for the hair, most of them are identical?

I'm REALLy looking forward to these two titles!!

I'd like to see more Carol too.  I just hope it doesn't lead to a Chuck/Nancy/Carol triangle.  We have too many triangles in Archie comics already.

Heck, we already have an Archie/Cheryl/Betty/Veronica rhombus!

I don't really like this new character - *another* speciality character introduction, and one that looks a *lot* like Midge, with Chuck's artistic angle? Meh.

I feel like I'm being really negative here, and I don't mean to be so, I'm sorry in advance, but, I really dislike the profiles this particular artist draws, especially since their upper lips seem to jut out well beyond their noses, nor am I too keen on the cut-and-paste exchangeability of all the female characters.

To end on a high note, I am *really* curious to read the story related to the cover with Cheryl and Archie in the wedding - the cover itself is wonderful!

As some of you might know by reading my posts, I'm a huge Dan Parent and love everything he does. Having said that, I think it is a bit odd that he does make all the girl's profiles look exactly the same

Hi All,
You know,  I have to agree with you on this one!  I normally try to differentiate the profiles, or at least the expressions, but the three profiles on those first 2 pages are quite identical.  I will have to be more aware of that in the future.  Looks like you guys are keeping me on my toes!!

Hope everybody will get into the upcoming Cheryl stories where you get to pick her new boyfriend.  We're also going to do a trade paperback of all of the best Veronica travel stories over the years. I just did a cover for that. That's all I got for now!

I'm relieved you weren't too upset by my complaint and am glad that you agree there's too much similarity. I *am* particularly fond of poor Archie's expression in the panel where Veronica says, "Yes! Archie can be my date!" and Betty lashes back, "Excuse me!". I guess I'm just likely to be more a fan of the direct angle illustrations of the gang, especially when there's a nice emotional range of facial features. :o

Thanks too, for the head's up on the Veronica's travel stories paperback! I'm sure it'll be a wonderful addition to anyone's collection - mine included! :)

You draw the girls quite cute and with an adorable style, too, but also try to give them various positions; their position, too is rather repetitious, especially while approaching a person/thing with hand raised and finger in air (just like Betty in the opening panel for the wedding story. I've seen Veronica done that one too many times.) My apologizes, but please keep up the good work. I'm impressed by how many stories you have done over the years.:)

I concur.  I used to love the Veronica's Passport Digest when it first came out because they reprinted all of the travel stories.  I think issue #1 had her going to Hong Kong, Africa and Paris.
