I notice that Jessica Simmers appears in the World Of Archie country cover, which makes sense since Jessice Simpson (who I'm guessing is the singer they're parodying) has switched genres from pop to country.  It would have been funny if ten years ago they had the same named artist as a pop tart...

Ah, so the Cheryl stories are being moved from the B&V Double Digests to the B&V Friends Double Digests?

A shame because I had trouble finding the B&V Friends Double Digests, at all the book stores I tried.

June looks like a very exciting month! Good -- I am glad that Archie's momentum isn't slowing down!

A few questions for my new pals 'n gals...

-- Who is the vampire dude in the bottom-right corner of the Archie & Friends cover? Could that actually be Adam? Has he ever been on a cover before? (I'm surprised they would use him instead of someone like Moose or Kevin.)

-- Archie Babies looks fun, but I'm more interested in seeing more Little Archie that uses some of the classic characters like Fangs Fogarty, Sue Stringley (sp?) and Little Ambrose. Little Archie's appearances are very few and far between these days, and it feels like whenever he does show up, it's just an opportunity to de-age the current Archie cast instead of taking advantage some of the fun classic characters. That's not really directly a complaint about Archie Babies (since it is different than Little Archie), but it does seem like they are going down the same route.

-- OK, I've seen some theories, but can anyone "in the know" give me the lowdown on the Kevin mini-series? Is it a stand-alone mini-series from Veronica, or is he just hijacking her title for a few months? Is it bi-monthly or monthly? How many different covers will there be? Will the newstand version be different than the comic-shop version? I am asking these questions because it has been like pulling teeth to get Archie titles added to my comic-shop pull list (they are great about everything else!), and I want to make sure I don't miss out on the Kevin title!

-- When the heck is the new Betty and Veronica mag launching? We heard about it quite a bit five or six months ago, but since then... nothing. I would have thought it would launch by June.

Thanks!

The Kevin Keller series will take over Veronica.  The official title of the comic will be Veronica #207 but the cover title will be Veronica Presents: KEVIN KELLER #1 (207).  I am assuming it will be bi-monthly since it's temporarily taking over Veronica til #210.  Archie has a special subscription offer for just these four issues on their website.  In Jughead Double Digest #169 which came in the mail today they had an ad for a retro 'Kevin Comics' variant cover as well for Veronica #207.  This will only be available at a few comic shops though.

I'll point Fernando Ruiz and Bill Galvan to this topic to answer your question about the "vampire" guy. Since both of them contributed to that cover, they should be able to answer that question (conveniently, both artists are members here).

As far as the magazine - the press release from back in November says that it would be launching "Spring/Summer 2011", so hopefully we'll be hearing more about that in the coming months. I will see if I can get some more info on that for you though.

Hi Guys,
The Veronica & Betty magazine has been pushed back until 2012.  With all the projects coming out, the folks at Archie didn't want it getting lost in the shuffle, and felt it was better to push it back a bit.  But I've drawn the first issue, and it's got a great story by Michael Uslan that sets up a nice ongoing storyline for the series.

Thanks,
Dan
