  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

I'm actually kind of disappointed that they didn't make a holiday issue for all the double digests...I suppose with some titles being in a story arc (Jughead with the Cyrano de Bergerac tale), it's not so easy, but the Christmas Archies were always my favourite.

They all look so good. Wish I had the $$$$ to buy them all.

Back to Archie, my local Hastings here in Las Cruces, NM has upgraded their comics section, which is good.  Unfortunately they've also seemed to have stopped carrying all Archie comics.

The 4 Hastings here in Boise also went through the changes you mentioned, but they moved the Archie/Disney/Kids books into the childrens' area. The digests will be there as well. You might see if yours did the same thing.

Thanks, Gregg.  I was there last night and took your advice.  Sheer embarrassment aside, I had tried looking in Kid's department twice before, but this time I found the rack.  Either I'd walked right past it both times or they'd just put it out.

Hi,
I was at the comic shop yesterday and looked at the Archies josie all stars book, and I wasn;t sure what the new content was. Is it the writing at the end of the book showing cover sketchs or is it actual stories? I feel like the follow up to the love story i think its called love smackdown, was the new story? Im drawing a blank, but I want to see if its worth purchasing or if its just a collection of tales from the issues just a year ago. Also what other books have new content new and upcoming in this series? I know the Christmas one has the digital content which is new to me bc i hav enot read those yet. thanks for any tips!

The Archies/Josie graphic novel is comprised of 4 stories: a two-parter that was published already (Archie #608-609) and the new content: another two-parter called "Love Smackdown" that hadn't been published before. It also includes cover sketches and artwork that I did for the series, some of which was unpublished. I'm biased, but I think this is a great collection! I hope you check it out!

Anybody here ever see that live action Sailor Moon show, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon?

I have. Well, I've seen some of it. I made a point to keep my computer on all night back in 2003 whenever a new episode was posted on torrent (I was on dial-up). I asked people to download episodes for me and send them to me on CDs and DVDs.

And I never actually finished watching the series.

So I recently restarted watching it from the beginning. I've watched the first two episodes so far.

Keep watching.  It's fun, sweet, funny, romantic, and epic.  Make sure to pick up episode 0, the special acts, the live musical performance, and the after series special.

I've watched up to episode 19 so far.

I do have the "after series special", which I believe is labelled "Special Act". Do you mean the mini acts? I might have those. I'm not sure.

I have the "Kirari Super Live" concert and the "Super Dance Lesson" (homemade TV-viewable DVD-Rs from back then, anyway; I'm not sure if I backed up the raw files or not; I'll have to look).

I *think* I have Act 0 (I remember seeing footage of it back then, so I either downloaded it or got it from someone else), but it's the one thing that I can't locate at the moment.

Betty Cooper + Cheryl Blossom. It's inevitable.

I think it's called Special Act.  I don't remember and don't have it in front of me at this computer.  It features Usagi's wedding.  There were a couple of mini stories that I can remember: Origin of Tuxedo Mask and an epilogue for his ex-finace.

Act 0 featured Sailor V and Artemis.

The live concert is cute, but the best part is the Generals going out into audience and totally hamming it up.

It is a great collection and worth the read.  I love the way the relationship was handled and it was fun to see Archie in a more serious one.

I am bumping this thread because I just picked up World of Archie 5.  I remember someone complaining about the writing when the series was out.  I will say that yes it is juvenile but that is the fun of it!  I cannot remember laughing so much.  They even threw in the Batsui.  The digest also collects a great Josie story.
