  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

ARCHIE FANS HAVE VOTED
« on: September 03, 2007, 11:05:15 AM »
Archie Comics has always listened to our fans. When planning to replace Archie & Friends with a new anthology title featuring both new characters and some of our best loved classic characters, we went to our fans for help to pick the title. Fans were given 10 proposed titles that were placed on the ArchieComics.com website and they voted for the title they liked best.

With 14,629 votes cast, Archie All-Stars is the winner with 51% of the votes. Fans can look forward to this exciting new title to debut in the 2nd quarter of 2008.

Great to hear, Rik. Hopefully Archie All Stars can showcase the non-manga versions of Sabrina and Josie and the Pussycats, more of Andrew Pepoy's Katy Keene series, new stories about Bingo Wilkin and cast, and short stories for Dilton, Moose & Midge, Ethel, Chuck & Nancy, Wendi Weatherbee, Regina Mantle, Li'l Jinx, the Riverdale faculty and of course the Mighty Crusaders!!!! I'm really hoping for the last one... :). This title might even be a good place to serialize Mike Pellowski's other Riverdale High prose books, as was recently done with "Bad Boy Trouble" in the recent Betty and Veronica Double Digests, with Steven Butler or other realisitc artists doing the art. Who knows, maybe we could also revisit Betty's Diary, Jughead's Time Police, Archie1, the Man from RIVERDALE, the Superteens and Explorers of the Unknown in this title.....

Any chance it'll be a thicker page count book? Maybe 100 pages or so? What can I say, I'm greedy, especially if it's all new material... :)

No offense, but titles like "Archie Playground" and "Archie Toy Box" sound a bit condescending, like only toddlers and young children read Archie comics. ::)

But you can tell from the age of everyone here (and perhaps in real life, too) that Archie readers range from kids to grandparents.:) It's great family entertainment.^_^

(I like Archie All-Stars, BTW.)

LOL "Archies Toy Box"

I didn't see that one before, just archie's play ground, which seems a little kinky.

Looking forward to the new title... Hopefully we'll get to see more of the forgotten characters like Jinx Malloy and Souphead... I'd also love to see some new Betty Cooper Super Sleuther stories
