  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

“ARCHIE LOVES BETTY” & “ARCHIE LOVES VERONICA”

ARCHIE COMICS ANNOUNCES TWO COMPLETELY BRAND-NEW TITLES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER A DECADE:

“ARCHIE LOVES BETTY” & “ARCHIE LOVES VERONICA”

New York, NY (March 22, 2010): This July, Archie Comics—home to world-famous characters Archie, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Josie and the Pussycats and more—will release the first issues of two completely brand new titles: The Married Life: Archie Loves Betty and The Married Life: Archie Loves Veronica. Each title is an entirely new ongoing series with endless possibilities in its creative evolution, both in terms of its visual aesthetics and its more literary approach to storytelling.

Inspired by the overwhelming popularity and demand for the recent Archie wedding story, each title covers the detailed legacy of what might be in Archie’s most passionately debated futures, one married to the haughty debutante, Veronica Lodge, in “Archie Loves Veronica” and the other married to the compassionate girl-next-door, Betty Cooper, in “Archie Loves Betty.”

“Everything about The Married Life series for both titles has exceeded our exceptionally high expectations,” reflects Archie Comics Co-CEO, Jon Goldwater. “The new direction of Archie Comics will be defined with the introduction of these two new titles, ‘Archie Loves Betty’ and ‘Archie Loves Veronica,’ and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”

Amongst all the new projects being initiated at Archie Comics this year—including Stan Lee’s Super Seven, the popularity of Archie comics on iTunes and Archie’s Red Circle superheroes at DC, and new partnerships with Random House, IDW, and Dark Horse—the two new ongoing titles are a testament to Archie Comics’ ability to distinguish its relevance to our everyday lives time and time again.

Looks like more of the same marrying Veroinca bad and Marrying Bettty good stuff  that was only hinted at in the marriage serries.  Not looking foward to ethier serisis Archie/ Veroinca will be one big bash fest that will ulimatley fail because Archice/Betty fans will hate because they hate seeing knowing that poor Betty suffering with out Archie, and Veroinca will not like it becuase all it really does is bash thier fave ship. I am not going to be intersted in  the Betty/Archie saga becuase they never  appealed to me as couple even when their wasn't a clear unheathy power imblance they manged bore the heck out of me(no offense to Betty/Archie fans). This on will be sucess becuase the majority of buyers enjoy the Betty/Archie stories wich  well be so full suagry sweetness. This will thoose in charge opiion that only Betty and Archie fans exist and therfore Archie/Veroinca and other  pairngs that conflict with like  my beloved Reggie and Betty will cease to exist expect of course to be evil interlopers in Betty/Archcie stories. >:(

What I would  enjoy  would be a decnet crack at another Reggie series.

I like both Archie/Betty and Archie/Veronica for different reasons, but it kinda annoys me that Archie/Betty looks like such a happy couple while Archie/Veronica looks so sad. It kinda shows bias from the artists, which also showed in the Wedding saga. I also hope this is sort of its own storyline and doesn't necessarily carry over from the Wedding saga (which was all in Archie's head), as several things over there didn't make much sense *coughJugheadMidgecough*.

Still, I'm eager to read these comics.

Who's the artist in those covers? Can't say I recognize that signature.

I truly doubt this is not same story line as the wedding stories.  So thoose elements that did not make sense to you in the first will defaintly still be there.

These are a complete surprise!  I'll happily add them to my pull list.

OMG OMG OMG! These look absolutely amazing! But looking in the past most of the new spin off series only last around 5-10 issues... I hope these ones would last longer because they look super promising! I could just imagine what types of stories could come out of them!

Oh yes.  Archie loves Betty is going on my list!

Only hinted?  I thought it was near enough out right stated...

Good  I wish were a Betty/Archie fan they the only group the heads cares about. The rest of just don't exist to them. I am really sick of being considered a non fan by the writers . :tickedoff:

Why don't they give Reggie his own title or  Betty/Reggie fans something :'(  I wonder why I even bother sating my pefrences as  long shipping Betty/ Archie I don't exist . :'( :'(

Don't recognized the artist of the 2nd cover, but the first (Betty/ Archie cover) is Norm Breyfogle, the same artist that did the new look Archie moving story in last years Archie Double Digests. Of course, it's the signature that gave it away, not my terrible art-spotting skills.

It's Norm Breyfogle on both covers, and apparently he's doing interiors too for both titles. Looking forward to both series. :)

I'm not sure about this.  It's true the marriage storyline caused a huge spike in sales...hey, why would they do it otherwise?...but I'm not sure it can sustain a spinoff series, let alone two.  What's new and unique rapidly becomes mundane and stale.  But I'll be watching to see what they can make of it.

Offline Purgatori

Can't say I'm excited about either of these. The fun's been in the chase. I'm sure a story about a married couple could be interesting, but it's not something I want from my Archie comics.
