  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

Ooh, we're seeing Archie characters regularly for first time as ADULTS?!! :o

So...I say...YAY! ;D

This could go either way . . . the initial stories suffered from the need to cram everything in without giving the characters room to breathe or for motivations to be explored.  This could either convince us that each relationship, in its own way, could work out well and they'd get their happily ever afters, explore the details of their lives in ways that can convince even those who ship the other pairing (and give Betty and Reggie a chance to hook up while Archie and Veronica are married) . . .

Or it could just be more of the same.

I think they will be beashing Veroinca/Archie while protryaing Betty/Archie as the right way like "the fans" want them to. As for  Betty and Reggie never going to happen in cannon. Thoose in charge seem hate the pairing to much to give an actual chance.

Offline BettyMantle

i can't help but have an bad feeling about it too, gotapenname.  they're really portraying Archie/Betty as the perfect, happy little fairy-tale romance made specifically for each other  couple  that makes me wanna barf!  Archie/veronica is the not working out i never should have married you we're not right for each other and we have problems (OH NO! that's never happened in a loving relationship before!!!!oneoneone) and I married you for your money and it's unfulfilling I shoulda married Betty couple.

The Archie/Betty one will be painful to read, not just because of Archie/Betty but because of the double-crap-whammy of Reggie/Veronica, which is probably probably even lower on my list than A/B.  R/V are THE SAME PERSON. they should just marry themselves.  Jughead/Midge makes more sense....

Veronica/Archie will be a little more tolerable, but it will probably still just be a "SEEEE!  ARCHIE AND VERONICA ARE CRAPPY TOGETHER! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN BETTY!" Betty will become an obese crazy cat lady spinster because there's only one guy for her, Archie.  and Reggie will probably stay a bachelor who dates several women but is unfulfilled cuz he lost his true love, the female version of himself.  (well, actually his true love is HIMSELF...[hmmm, that could be a reason why he would end up with Veronica...since they are the same person and he loves himself so much. might as well end up with the female version of himself.  but that would only further his egotism, and we can't have that...])  then somehow Veronica and Archie's marriage will cause a series of random connected events causing Jughead to DIE!!!

then A/V will realize they're not for each other, divorce, and ARchie will marry Betty, which Veronica will be totally fine with...no, she'll encourage it because she's found love with herself...I mean, Reggie. The world will once again be set right, no one on the planet will ever despair again, then Jughead will come back to life, World Peace will prevail, Utopia will ensue and world hunger will end and they'll all live happily ever after the end.

although, i do have a small flicker of hope, for my hope can never be crushed when it comes to my shippings, that maybe there will be Reggie/Betty in the A/V one. (of course, they'll probably only use it to show "how bad" a pairing between R/B would be)

The only thing I hate about the covers is how they seem to overshadow the start of each series. "Archie Loves Betty" seems like the typical love story, while "Archie Loves Veronica" makes it seem as if he'll have more trouble adapting to a rich life.

Not that I don't want an issue though. Both look promising.
When it comes to food Archie Comics, I'm an expert.

I'm really interested in these issues. If they do infact base these stories on the current Wedding arc then I hope it takes place before they have children so we won't be seeing Migdge and Jughead together! Or they can just get rid of that storyline all together. That's one retcon I wouldn't mind being erased from the continuity.

I don't think the cover to the Archie/Veronica necessarily means that it's a bad relationship. It just shows that the money side of things is bad and not Veronica herself. Besides, it would be pretty boring if everything was perfect. I wouldn't want to read a dull, happy life or one that was identical to the Betty/Archie storyline.

That's my conceren for both thesse titles as well. I have fear that becuase of precived majority of the other fan base that will not give the Veroinca/ Archie  pairing  as much love and any  Reggie with Betty pairinng will too be bashed on by the canon. I never got the feeling that Betty/Reggie or even Veroinca/Archie were liked by thoose in charge  of Archie comics.

not recently anyway. I think the older stuff portrayed b/r and a/v in a better light.  in fact, when I read my dad's 70's issues when I was a kid i was more inclined to think they focused more on a/v than a/b.  and back then I prefered A/b, But I think it was the lack of it in the 70's issues and the fact that Archie's a butthead to Bets that converted me to B/R

so yeah, when I was a kid I liked A/B and didn't have access to issues that focused on them enough. and now I'm into B/R and there are never issues about them! Archie Comics, you fail in satisfying me! lol

Jughead - yeah, I wouldn't want to read a happy sappy marriage love story either.

yeaah thoose were the good old day but they have long come too pass. :smitten: Me unlike the very cool BettyMantle   was never a Betty/Archie fan back in the day I only really enjoyed Betty when she was with Reggie alhough I had yet to ship them. I always perfered Archice and Veroinca. It' s was only druing my only real Archie haitas that a had come to the conclusion that Betty and Reggie would rock ass. I despite the lack expsoure I have come to love Reggie and Betty more than Veroinca and Archie(although I still rather fond of Archie/Veroinca)

Offline BettyMantle

cool :)

I think the only reason I liked Archie/Betty was because I liked Betty more than Veronica and thought she deserved love.  And I still do, which is why I don't put her with butt head Archie. lol
