Civil Chore Strike Update
« on: September 10, 2007, 01:55:49 AM »
As the "Civil Chore" expands through Riverdale, Riverdale High student Chuck Clayton comments "It's like all of Riverdale has been divided by this Crisis!"

From most recognizable kids in the Riverdale High student body to the lesser know students everyone is choosing sides. Look at this aerial photo of the streets of Riverdale taken directly from page two of Tales From Riverdale Digest #24 and you will see virtually every teen in Riverdale. Can you identity all of them?

Archie Comics has sent Ace Reporter Fernando Ruiz to the scene to sort out which students are involved. This report is not in the comic itself! For his exciting internet exclusive report look below as Fernando identifies the students on strike.

Wow...it's like a "Who's Who" of Riverdale!

I'm not sure how January got there...unless she swiped Jughead's time-travel beanie to get to 2007. :)

I genuinely love the expressions on Cheryl and Jason's faces at the top of page 1. They're completely thinking "What the f--- is going on here?"

So...Josie McCoy and Sabrina Spellman live in Riverdale now?

I guess Cheryl must have started a trend.

Betty Cooper + Cheryl Blossom. It's inevitable.

Allison Adams has appeared in some recent stories as of late.  I think she was featured in a couple of stories with Dilton.

Tough Teddy Tough is such a great name. They're missing out by not reusing these characters!

And who is the character who is just called Debbie?

Debbie was part of the Joani/Jughead/Debbie love triangle that was the big talk of the Archie world back in '89.

Ah, I see Joani Jummp is in there as well. I guess they didn't bother with giving Debbie a last name.

Josie and Sabrina still live in their respective towns but after watching coverage of the competing strikes on RNN (Riverdale News Network) they hopped a bus to join the fray!

Thanks! Alison Adams is Dilton Doiley's Margo Lane! She's appeared in a number of Dilton stories that I've written.

Thanks for showing classic Sabrina, Fernando.  :)

Didn't get a chance to play "who is that character" 'cause the list was posted right beneath the pic. Admittedly, I wouldn't have gotten Debbie, Joanie, Allison, or Trula (cause I'm not familiar with them as much) or the 2 new characters Fernando and and his fiancee Carrie (congrats, btw!)  ;). Samantha I would've gotten due to Bingo's reaction to Reggie

Hopefully even more characters will show up on the two page spread you hinted about a few months back... can't remember if that was in issue 23 or 24.

Moose and Midge are on opposite sites? Very interesting. Some of the characters' choices are interesting too. I assume alot of the girls (Debbie, Joanie, Trula, January and Ethel) are on Jug's side 'cause they like him, not because of their personal beliefs (betty I think falls under this category for the Archie camp.) What about Wendi Weatherbee? Why is she siding with Jughead? Who's side is Sabrina on? Bingo and Samanatha are on opposite sides as well? Why would samantha be against this?? Maria is also on Jughead's side? Nancy and Chuck are on opposite sides, too? Hmmm..... Someone should write why they think each character chose the side they did....

A quick rundown:

Archie's side              Jughead's side

1.Archie                   1.Jughead
2.Betty                    2.Veronica
3.Chuck                   3. Reggie
4.Midge                    4. Moose
5.Dilton                    5.Marcy
6.Allison                   6.Maria
7.Josie                     7.Nancy
8.Bingo                    8.Samantha
9.Hot Dog                 9.Wendi
10.Tough Teddy       10.Ethel
11.Carrie                  11.Debbie
                              12.Joanie
                              13.

Undecided:  Buddy, Cheryl, Jason, Trula, January, Sabrina, Raj, Frankie, and Fernando

It's still anyone's ballgame... can't wait to see how this plays out.

Gregg

I just got and read part 2. I have to admit part 2 was a lot better than part 1. Part 1 was a bit too much set up and silly at that. I liked seeing the couples being broken up over who they support but I have to say that I think it would have been more realistic to see Moose change his stand to stick with Midge. It seems more in line with his character.

Do we have any guesses at who the mystery arbitrator is at the end of this issue?

Jim
