  • Biollante: probalby, but 59 percent is considered a "blow out" in political terms, some people are on shaky ground right now, there was evne a conservative pollset that worked for Bush warning people that if Republicans are against things like gay marriage in the near future, they would endure catastrophic losses, I don't know if it's this political cycle, but the paradigm shift already happened a while ago

  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

Jughead’s Dynamic New Look

Jughead’s Dynamic New Look

Last year, one of the most talked about stories in the comic book industry was the Dynamic New Look for Betty & Veronica; as seen in the story “Bad Boy Trouble”. Thousands of Archie fans responded by e-mail, snail mail and phone expressing their disapproval of the new look before the story was even printed. Those same fans, after reading “Bad Boy Trouble” let us know how much they enjoyed the story once seeing it in print. They thought it was fun and interesting to see the characters with a different look, AS LONG AS IT WASN’T IN ALL OF THE COMICS. The story was so popular it was collected into a Graphic Novel.

Thanks to the response of those thousands of fans, we have created another story with a Dynamic New Look.  This time, starring Jughead in a story that will shock you. You can see Jughead’s Dynamic New Look in four consecutive issues of Jughead’s Double Digest starting with issue #139 through issue #142, with Dynamic art by the legendary Joe Staton. Remember, it is only one of the stories in Jughead’s Double Digest, the remaining stories will be in the classic Archie art style you know and love. Make sure you contact your local comic book retailer to reserve your copies today.

Oddly enough, I love Joe Staton's art and am looking forward to this, more than I was the previous one. I'm not sure al is the best inker for him, though...

For those of you playing at home, this story is based on this book:

rh_4

and I called it a few weeks ago in another thread. Hah! :)

Plot: Betty and Veronica play matchmakers for Jughead and a new girl in school. No writer listed, but Mike Pellowski wrote the novel. Is Melanie J.Morgan going to do this one as well?

very interesting....

Wow... That's definitely different. It will take some getting used to, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out. I still haven't caught up on the "Bad Boy Trouble" stories though...

Ugh. It's horrid. I'll buy it just because the story is told from Betty's perspective, but...ugh!

Has it ever been mentioned why they're adapting these "new look" stories from those old novels that Gregg has?

I'm not the biggest Joe Stanton fan but he's serviceable on superhero books. Not really a fan of this new look though. I thought they'd use the same artist or at least the same style for these "new look" stories.

I'll probably buy the digests.  I've always liked Jughead, and the Dynamic New Look is interesting.  I'm not a big fan of the "Jughead Gets a Girlfriend" type of stories, however.
