  • Biollante: probalby, but 59 percent is considered a "blow out" in political terms, some people are on shaky ground right now, there was evne a conservative pollset that worked for Bush warning people that if Republicans are against things like gay marriage in the near future, they would endure catastrophic losses, I don't know if it's this political cycle, but the paradigm shift already happened a while ago

  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

RETURN OF “THE MAN FROM R.I.V.E.R.DA.L.E.

ARCHIE COMICS BRINGS BACK LEGENDARY WRITER TOM DEFALCO
WITH THE ACTION-PACKED RETURN OF
“THE MAN FROM R.I.V.E.R.DA.L.E.”

New York, NY (May 24, 2010): Archie Comics, publisher of Archie and Stan Lee Comics, continues to bring excitement to new heights with legendary Marvel writer/editor Tom DeFalco with the explosive action of The Man from R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E.—a brand new four-part thriller!

“In recent years, James Bond, Star Trek and now the A-Team have been modernized for today’s audiences. It’s time for the super-spies and secret agents of The Man from R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E. to return,” states Co-CEO Jon Goldwater. “After the success of ‘Archie Meets the Punisher,’ Tom DeFalco was a perfect fit for the explosive adventure the world is about to see.”

In DeFalco-style, The Man from R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E. features the pulse-pounding exploits of Archie and his friends as high-tech spies working for the world-defense organization P.O.P. (Protect Our Planet). Their chief enemy, a counter-group known as C.R.U.S.H., is up to no good as they pursue their obsession to obtain the dangerous Formula Z!

Tasked with defending the formula from the evil spy ring, The Man from R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E. (aka Archie Andrews) only has one weakness, and you can be certain C.R.U.S.H. will exploit it! Can girl-crazy Archie resist the va-va-va-BOOM powers of bombshell vixen Sharry the Spy Girl? Together with his cousin, Andy Andrews—star of a never-published Archie Comics crime story—Archie is determined to save the day. But a terror-filled thrill ride awaits them and the entire town of Riverdale!

“In bringing back The Man from R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E., my question was: if spies actually existed in the Archie world, how could they be seamlessly integrated into Archie’s continuity while still being true to his universe?” remarks Archie Comics alum and writer, Tom DeFalco. “That is my creative challenge – to create a realistic and dangerous situation for the characters to act in, kind of like mashing up 24 and The Bourne Identity with Chuck and Get Smart.”

In addition to Stan Lee’s Super Seven, Archie comics on iTunes, Archie’s Red Circle superheroes at DC, and new partnerships, Archie Comics continues to bring action-packed adventures to eager fans world-wide with the return of legends like Tom DeFalco and The Man from R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E.!

The Man from R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E. explodes into action with Archie #610, available 6/23/2010 and continuing through Archie #613!

I used to love the old R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E. stories, so this is definitely something I'm interested in seeing...particularly since technology has gotten so advanced over the past 50 years.

Really looking forward to this. I have several issues of Life With Archie containing the original "Man From R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E." stories, and hope that this can live up to the fun and excitement of the original stories.

For those looking to collect the original stories, they appeared in issues 48 through 63 of Life With Archie.

Wait. Are these spy stories supposed to be in continuity with the rest of the Archieverse?

They make comments on there only being one continuity, but each time Dilton invents time travel, it's for the first time . . .

I mean in a generalized sense. Basically, are we supposed to take these secret spies stories into account as happening "behind the scenes" of the normal, pedestrian high school stories?

They make comments on there only being one continuity

Who does? And what do they mean by "one continuity"?

I think, we are supposed to take these stories as a some sort of "parallel universe". Not the mainstream of Archieverse (clumsy term, i know...  ;D)
