  • Biollante: probalby, but 59 percent is considered a "blow out" in political terms, some people are on shaky ground right now, there was evne a conservative pollset that worked for Bush warning people that if Republicans are against things like gay marriage in the near future, they would endure catastrophic losses, I don't know if it's this political cycle, but the paradigm shift already happened a while ago

  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.
    May 21, 2012, 07:57:37 AM
  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)
    May 21, 2012, 07:23:13 AM
  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

THIS HALLOWEEN, HAVE A SPOOKTACULAR TIME WITH ARCHIE & HIS FRIENDS!

In the 60 plus years that Archie Comics have been published, Archie and his friends have commemorated the holidays time and time again.  Countless stories featuring the gang involved in hilarious and heartwarming tales revolving around Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving, and especially Christmas have peppered the pages of Archie Comics, much to the delight of readers.

One holiday that is a mainstay of Archie Comics is Halloween.  Kids love to dress up in costumes and have masquerade parties, and Archie and his friends are no exceptions.  Time and time again their Halloween hijinx have led to hilarity.  And sometimes they even met real monsters, as in the pages of “Archie’s Madhouse” and “Bats!”

This fall, the Riverdale teens are at it again.  Don’t miss the spooky fun!

BETTY & VERONICA SPECTACULAR #85, ships 9/10.  32-page, full color comic, $2.25 US.  SPECIAL HALLOWEEN ISSUE!  “An Axe to Grind”: It’s a dark and stormy night… a fitting night for Betty and Veronica to stay inside and have a scary movie festival!  But things go from “reel” to real when Archie, Jughead and Reggie try to crash the girl’s private party… and come face-to-face with an axe-wielding maniac!  Is everything as it seems, or is it just a case of the boys’ imaginations running wild?  Guest-starring Veronica’s truck driving aunt, Tessie!  SCRIPT AND ART: Dan Parent.

TALES FROM RIVERDALE DIGEST #30, ships 9/24.  Full color digest format, $2.49 US.  “For Monsters Only”: Can it be true?  Have Archie and Jughead really stumbled into a Halloween party where the guests are not in costume but are actual, real-live monsters?  Find out for yourself if this tale is a “trick” or a “treat!”  SCRIPT: George Gladir.  ART: Fernando Ruiz.  “The Promise”: Mr. Weatherbee promises to perform as a clown if the students improve their reading averages, leading some to ask, “what else is new?!”  SCRIPT: George Gladir.  ART: Pat Kennedy.   PLUS: Other new and classic tales!  SCRIPT AND ART: Various talents.  BONUS: Puzzles, games and pin-ups!

Oh. My. Gawd. Dan Parent has outdone himself this time around.
Zach uses:

Guitars: Washburn WV16 (shown in display pic), Cort X6, Godin BG5 5-string bass, Squire P-Bass, Squire P-Bass Special

Equipment: Ashdown Engineering, Marshall, Smokey Amplification, EMG, Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, BOSS, EHX, Digitech, Ibanez, Jim Dunlop, Ernie Ball Strings

Jughead's Pseudo World Tour (rated T+) (Pt.7 posted 20-12-08)

A situation like this should never exist - then why are we out of control?

isn't that Mike Wazowski, the little one-eyed monster???

Similar, but Mike is green, and doesn't have the bat-wing webbing under (or behind, depending on how you're viewing the cover) his arms.

Pretty good covers all around, but I think the girls' Halloween one would have been a lot funnier if Betty was in a devil dress and Veronica was the angel... just the opposite of last year!!! :>)

What's really cool is that the Archie creators always seem to be having great fun with these characters and that ALWAYS translates off of these images.

Why am I getting a "Scooby-Doo" vibe from that awesome Tales From Riverdale cover?

If anyone can appreciate this - it's you fellow Archie fans!

I was very, very fortunate to be able to get the original cover art for the Betty and Veronica issue - it's absolutely gorgeous!  In fact, I was also lucky enough to get last years digest cover original art and will be framing the two of them and the comics together - I can't WAIT to put them up in my office!

Dan's covers are a great, he always makes them a little different, and I cannot say enough good things about them!  :)

This year, for my daughters birthday, I had him create a fantastic commission of Betty and Veronica fighting over whom gets to babysit her.  I'll ask him if I can post the image here - it's really nice.
No matter where I go, there I am.  Creepy.

Here's a link to my "Fan of Dan" page where I post some of the original artwork I have bought.

It has the original work for the Halloween cover above.  Notice that they have moved Betty's position over and extended Veronica's broom down.  Also, the published cover has that orange moon.

isn't that Mike Wazowski, the little one-eyed monster???

Of course its NOT Mike Wazowski! Mike Wazowski is a DISNEY character!

Thanks for all the kind words about this cover. It was a lot of fun to pencil this one. I hope you'll also dig the story inside. It's written by the great George Gladir and inked by one of my favorite inkers, Rich Koslowski!!!!

Oh yeah! And I drew it!
