  • Biollante: probalby, but 59 percent is considered a "blow out" in political terms, some people are on shaky ground right now, there was evne a conservative pollset that worked for Bush warning people that if Republicans are against things like gay marriage in the near future, they would endure catastrophic losses, I don't know if it's this political cycle, but the paradigm shift already happened a while ago

  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.
    May 21, 2012, 07:57:37 AM
  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

Haven't seen any of these except for a clip of the Josie movie.  It like made me want to jump in front of a bus it was so bad.  And wow, the actors are so ugly compared to the characters I love.  Just what they did to Alexandra made me want to cry myself to sleep.  I'll just stick with the cartoon.

Offline Captain Hero

I've seen all three, and my vote would have to go to the Josie movie as well.  It was just totally bad.

Although, Melissa Joan Hart was basically the only character from the TV series to star in the original TV movie...even Salem had a different voice!

Offline Tuxedo Mark

I haven't seen the Sabrina movie, but I voted for Return to Riverdale. That was...awkward, I think is the best word. It's like they tried to do Archie grown up, but they were still kind of squeamish and squeaky-clean. For example, Veronica's line: "I believe married couples should make love as often as possible."

The Josie movie is brilliant. It saddens me that so many people still don't get this movie. It's a satire of popular culture (for example, the boy band DuJour, which is so laughably absurd, yet all of the girls are crazy over them just as they are in real life over the Backstreet Boys, the Jonas Brothers, etc.; its name even means "Of the moment") in general and consumerism (the subliminal messages plot; also witness all of the deliberate product placement) in particular. Awesome! And the soundtrack rocks!

Betty Cooper + Cheryl Blossom. It's inevitable.

Oh, I got the message of the Josie movie...I just didn't like it.

They should just hire Bruce Timm and Paul Dini to make an animated direct to video Josie and the Pussycats movie.  I guarantee you they would produce something fantastic and very close to the spirit of the source material since they're obviously fans.  This would also be extremely easy since they've worked mostly for WB, WB owns the rights, and the Scooby DTV movies have been extremely successful.

And parodying the absurdity of the music industry in a movie about a girl band is kind of obvious and isn't something I really want to see for an entire Josie movie.  Still haven't seen very much of this film just because I don't want to, but that seems like a wasted opportunity if that's all  they did with it (I've heard this repeated elsewhere).

I mean for some jokes, sure, it would work great.  However, if you want to craft an entire movie around social commentary on consumerism I think it would be better to do it a non-obvious way like Dawn of the Dead (1978).  With a Josie film, I would probably want to see some of the adventure elements borrowed from the TV series and the comic.  That way we could get into the characters outside of the context of them as a band.

I'm not sure, but it just seems like another byproduct of the horrendous Hollywood system where a project is developed and the studio hires screenwriters and a director who couldn't give a rat's back end about the source material.  Maybe I'm wrong here, but it sort of gives me that vibe.

But of course, one of the biggest problems with adaptions of Archie stuff is the actors are never going to come close the characters we are familiar with.  For that reason, I would probably prefer them to stay in the realm of animation.

Someone should put that clip on youtube.  I don't have the patience to sit through the entire thing. xd

I would liked to vote on this mouths poll but i have decided to DISQUALIFIED myself from this poll who knows maybe someone in this Fan Forum may have seen it on the Big Screen or on Television when that movie was on.

This is going to sound strange, but as bad as all of them could (and probably) be, I like them all and couldn't really vote against any of them.

Of course it has also been a while since I've seen any of them...

Okay, now I need to have an Archie movie marathon. :)

I think that artist Norm Breyfogle has shown remarkable restraint by not having Mr. Lodge twirl his mustache in every panel as the character's evil traits become more and more defined.-Chris Cummins http://www.toplessrobot.com/2011/04/the_10_craziest_moments_from_life_with_archie_the.php

If I took a shot at writing an Archie movie, would anyone mind?
