  • Biollante: probalby, but 59 percent is considered a "blow out" in political terms, some people are on shaky ground right now, there was evne a conservative pollset that worked for Bush warning people that if Republicans are against things like gay marriage in the near future, they would endure catastrophic losses, I don't know if it's this political cycle, but the paradigm shift already happened a while ago

  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

History of Comics On Film (The Archie Show)
« on: July 04, 2010, 08:46:27 PM »
Hi all.

Happy 4th of July!

This is the 32nd part of my ongoing documentary of shorts on the History of Comics On Film.

Since this one covers  The Archie Show, I figured you guys might have some interest in checking this out.

Also if you missed the 17th part that dealt with the Archie 1964 TV Pilot, you can see it here.

Thanks for the links Derek! I'm going to move this to "Other Media" as I feel it fits better there. Definitely going to watch both videos when I have time :)

i wanted to cry... because i hate the rapping. no offense, oldiesmann :) i happen to liked sam whipple, the actor. he was in The Rock, i remember. R.I.P. too bad he died young.

but that movie was cheesy in a goofy way -- it's a family movie, i get it. it's just not my cup of tea.

what happened with the rumor that they're gonna make a new archie movie? i heard something 'bout justin bieber or someone that i don't know, is rumored to be in this new movie? is it really happening?

There was a rumor years ago about a possible new movie and/or tv series - I still have some digests with pages asking people to audition (or something like that). Not sure whatever happened with the idea.

I sincerely hope Justin Bieber never appears in anything Archie-related. Besides - if he were, chances are he wouldn't be popular anymore by the time the movie actually got released.

Justin Bieber's voice'd have to change first before he could play ANYONE on that movie!  And, even so, Justin Bieber is someone that I don't particularly care for...though he does have his audience.  Maybe if he were a musical guest or something I could POSSIBLY tolerate it.

But, then they were also saying that Selena Gomez would play Veronica and Miley Cyrus would play Betty, so who really knows what's true?

I'm wondering if those photos on that issue are simply a publicity stunt to get teens interested. Either way, I think it's tacky and they should go back to the normal cover that they displayed with they first announced that issue.

History of Comics On Film Part 34 is now up!

So like I mentioned, I've been working on a lot of the Filmation/Archie type shows over the last few months.

Just finished the first of the 4 I had been working on, Archie's Funhouse.

Also I finally get to share my new 70s Intro (which I am quite happy with).

As always comments are appreciated.

Next up will be Josie and The PussyCats. So Stay Tuned!

Watching it now... Very informative!

Only one issue... When you get to the part about superheroes, you refer to Jughead's superhero alter-ego as "Captain Jughead". He was known as "Captain Hero", not "Captain Jughead".
