  • Biollante: probalby, but 59 percent is considered a "blow out" in political terms, some people are on shaky ground right now, there was evne a conservative pollset that worked for Bush warning people that if Republicans are against things like gay marriage in the near future, they would endure catastrophic losses, I don't know if it's this political cycle, but the paradigm shift already happened a while ago

  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

Sugar Sugar Commercials
« on: September 15, 2008, 04:57:01 AM »
There are some advertisements from my country, Indonesia, about Sugar product called GULAKU (My Sugar). I love the commercials because they are fun and great  :smitten: Enjoy!

SUGAR PARTY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iyjn-Csnlek I think there was Archie doing cartwheel somewhere, a guy wearing checkered pants  ;D

FANTASY SUGAR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK7II4n4z2o

HAPPY SUGAR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ze0gaSPp-II

There are some more, but they haven't put it on Youtube.

"Sugar.... Oh, honey honey!"

Okay - I am convinced that sugar (and sugar substitute) advertisements are all very strange!  Haha!  These were great... sugar must be BIG business.

No matter where I go, there I am.  Creepy.

Wow. It seems like they paid a lot for the advertising with those (well, the first two). They're quite pretty actually! The third one is quite plain by comparison. Thanks so much for posting, honeybee!

In the first one, yeah, there's a guy dressed like Archie (checkered pants, dark vest, white sleeves) who flies by, and later, does a few flips through the frame!

They did something similar for Splenda products in an ad dating back to 1994 in Canada.  Instead of Sugar Sugar, they sang "Splenda...Oh, Splenda Splenda...you are my Splenda girl..." :2funny:

Well, if it makes you sick, don't consume it.

Wow. It seems like they paid a lot for the advertising with those

especially they are using the archie song. the ads won several awards every year.

everyone loves those ads, because each new ones always spectacular. i heard they're planning to use the archies characters next or just a simple story about love triangle between high schoolers but they have one common ground; their love for "my sugar"  :D

hohoho, do you have a link for that ad? i'd like to see it.

the song Sugar, Sugar has been turning up in a lot of places lately!  A few weeks ago I was in a Hallmark browsing through the cards that play music, and I opened one up that had something to do with dessert, and it starts to play that song!

I actually like the third video because of its simplicity, and it showing the sights of my country :)

I'll post more video of the commercial. They are planning for the X-Mas special ad in December.

Because of the title of the upcoming movie, I won't list it, but, Sugar, Sugar is used in the trailer of the upcoming Kevin Smith movie, starring Seth Rogen. I'm pretty sure it's featured in at least 2 trailers, but, I've only seen 2 on t.v..

Yes... I saw that too (it was actually on my TV once when I was on this forum), but I decided not to mention it here!

Well, anything with Kevin Smith automatically gets a adult rating, and the title, I felt, would be best omitted. ^_^ Still, when the trailer first came on, I was in another room, and heard "Sugar, Sugar" and ran back to see what it was. I was actually a bit surprised, honestly.

Just goes to show that a classic song like that never dies :)

The commercials were good, but I didn't like the version of the song that they used in the first commercial.
