  • PixyJunket: Do the general coupon codes for ArchieComics.com work for Digest subscriptions?
  • DeCarlo Rules: No, you're right... if you DON'T own those "Best of" collections, those two Jumbo digests are must-haves... great stories, but fair warning for those that did buy TBoAC... but my point is, something happened there to cause those hastily-thrown together REreprints that don't match the solicitation descriptions for those issues.
  • PixyJunket: There's also the "trigger warning" at the front of the book, so I guess that means everything is unaltered too. Combine that with the source information and you have a wonderful format for Digests to compliment the New Riverdale stuff.

  • DeCarlo Rules: @PixyJunket -- I wonder what's going on with these recent Jumbo digests. In the case of both Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #260 and B&V Jumbo Comics Digest #233, ALL of the contents are drawn from the BEST OF ARCHIE COMICS series paperback collections. No other content outside of that, and neither of those match the contents as originally solicited in advance.

Story Help / A Sabrina Story (Recent, non-horror)
« on: April 09, 2015, 02:02:20 PM »
I found this description online, but no title name or book number, only that it was "recent".
Quote
The gang from Riverdale are transported to a magical kingdom of fairy tales after Archie unlocks a book that he finds in the forest. By being transported there, the entire gang switch places with fairy tale characters who are transferred to Earth - Archie becomes Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk, Jughead becomes Old King Cole, Dilton becomes William Tell, Reggie becomes the Big Bad Wolf, Betty becomes Red Riding Hood, Moose and Midge become the characters from the Prince and the Frog, Sabrina becomes the magic mirror and Veronica becomes Snow White. After the worlds are let back to normal, Archie must find the key to stop the flow of magical water from the mirror between the two which will revert things to normal. As he searches for the key, the other fairy tale characters return and fight for their roles back. Archie eventually finds the key but needs to be rescued by Tinker Bell. After he rescues her he switches things back but then finds that she is a new student at his school the following day.

Where was it found?

Veronica #201

The Veronica cover design is available at Dan Parent's webstore (http://danparent.com/?page_id=13) as part of a 4-print (11"x17") set of "Archie's Girls". I don't know if he sells it separately, but you could always email him to ask... I don't see why he wouldn't. Plus, if you buy it from Dan, he will autograph it.

If not, you can still get it (in a variety of different sizes), at the slightly-priceier AllPosters.com:
http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Archie-Comics-Cover-Veronica-No-201-Posters_i7556876_.htm

The Veronica "tattoo" cover is also available as a t-shirt design, if you're running out of wall space for posters:

Frankly, I wouldn't want the Josie one.
I don't care for it at all.

All About Archie / Re: Say one nice thing about EACH of the core five

Archie--he means well/tries hard/good-hearted
Veronica--Beautiful/fashionable.
Betty--pretty/warm-hearted
Reggie--motivated/sharp dresser/real drive
Jughead--inventive/creative/2nd smartest kid in Riverdale High (after Dilton, but often hides his light under a bushel).

If magic was real, why wouldn't there be courses at the University, Big Business Sorcery firms, Military Hex capacity?

Made it out of surgery fine. Still very drowsy and a little nauseated but other then that. I have a NG tube for feedings and taking my medicines for probably today and tomorrow. Of course my mom had to take a picture of me lying her in bed.

Meh.
you've still got a shot at dating Archie.
And, therefore, Reggie.

Other Media / Re: Strange New Release--Archie In Public Domain?
« on: February 02, 2015, 07:45:16 AM »
YOW!

I just dropped more than $150 on various publications, including Ella Cinders, Invisible Scarlet O'Neil, & various members of the Captain Marvel Family!

As well as a couple Archie reprints (all of which include the original ads).
I'm guessing you've had these books in hand for a while now. Did you find these to be a good value and how was print quality?

Well, it's scanned from 50+ year old comics, but not too bad, overall.
Most of the "comics" contain both Archie & other backup material, as you'd expect.
Colors are somewhat washed out from aging, but that's the material, not careless scanning.
Overall--not too shabby.

I do on the other hand, seem to recall a Dell or Gold Key comic about them.
But my memory isn't clear.
