Tonight we had a guy come through the garage (apparently driving a Lexus) who demanded that we refund his parking fee because Dewey's Pizza was closed. Apparently it's our fault that the pizza place closes early on New Years Eve.
My manager also said people were coming through on Christmas wanting their money back because nothing was open...
What did you do in each of those situations?

Everything Archie / All About Archie / Re: Lost in the Lodge Mansion

*Not entirely sure if they were lost for years or months. I remember that story, and I think they had been lost for years. That was a little far-fetched! I just re-read this story. They were lost for five years and veronica found them using a petty car she travels in around the house because the wing she was heading to is 2 miles away. If everyone had to travel two miles in their own house.... Okay, so the Lodge mansion is basically the size of a small town. That still doesn't explain how someone could get lost in there for YEARS. Then again, if the Israelites got lost for 40 years during an 11-day journey...

men that greet me by asking "What's goin' on?"
So what's wrong with that?! (Seriously, I don't understand!) Basically, it comes down to "What kind of a greeting is that?" Why ask "What's goin' on?" when they really have no interest in finding out? Why not say "Hello"? Besides, you never know when the person that you're greeting might be having a bad day, and the last thing that s/he wants to hear from someone is "What's goin' on?", "How ya doin'?", "How's it goin'?", "How are you?", etc.

Everything Archie / All About Archie / Re: Riverdale permanently boy-girl kind?

I don't get why it's really necessary for Archie to include same-sex couples...
Because not doing so would be worse. Imagine if Archie Comics had never introduced black characters. Or Asian characters. Or Arabic characters. It would be far better if they acknowledge homosexuality than pretend that it doesn't exist. I'm sure that there are plenty of readers that would welcome a same-sex couple in Riverdale.

During the day leading up to Christmas (and for the entire prior week), we've been open from 6:00 AM to midnight. Pretty pointless, I think, considering the store was pretty much dead in the last few hours (excluding one night in which I got two customers at 11:58 PM with hundreds of dollars' worth of items and ended up leaving at around 12:20 AM).
Also, on December 23 (I believe), the service desk girl asked me to straighten the Christmas shelves by the front entrance before I left. Before I finished that, a manager asked me to take some Christmas figures and place them on the top shelf in Christmas. When that was done, an employee asked me to take a box of candy and put it back on the shelf (because she didn't want to walk over there, apparently, and probably thought that I was staying after closing to straighten). I ended up leaving at around 12:20 AM.
Today, we seem to be back to our normal hours. I worked from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. When I got in, it was busy. There were 4 or 5 registers open throughout the early part of my shift. Supposedly, when the day started, it was busy, but they had only two cashiers. It got pretty much dead at around 3:50 PM. So much for salvaging the holiday shopping season.

This isn't a complaint, really, but more of an observation. Last Christmas season, the largest total that I rang up for a customer was $1,666 and change. This Christmas season, I haven't had an order that reached $500. I'm curious to see Kmart's holiday shopping season report when it comes out.

More of mine: when people that don't know me wish me a Merry Christmas (thus presuming that I'm a Christian) that one person in church that I always hear praying/singing more distinctly than everyone else (whose voices blend together); usually, it's the person standing right behind me, and I have to resist the urge to turn around and do something unholy men that greet me by asking "What's goin' on?"
