Did anybody else notice how much they changed how Betty's sister Polly looks in this comic??? They completely changed how she looks and I'm wondering why? Also why is Polly home so much now...I thought she lived in San Francisco and news broadcaster.

Other than that the comic was pretty good, I think.

I'm not sure...you're best to ask Tuxedo Mark.  He knows all things Betty Cooper.  ;)

Yeah, they usually put out one "swimsuit" issue during the summer...guess the Betty title got the treatment this year!

Sneak peek: That cover will be available as a poster in the near future.

Regarding the change in Polly's appearance, I wouldn't know, since I rarely can get the pamphlets.

Polly's hasn't lived in San Francisco for a few years now. As far as I know, she's living back at home.

Betty Cooper + Cheryl Blossom. It's inevitable.

Yeah, I was wondering this myself. Polly used to be distinctly brown-haired, but I guess with two blonde parents, it was likely that she'd be blonde herself (it's cartoonist/artist shorthand for "they're related" if everyone looks alike somehow- just look at Jughead's family!). She looks kind of matronly in this issue, though. I think it's the big curly hair.

I didn't know Polly was living at home, though. When did that happen?

It was nice to see her, though. I was starting to think they were going to give Betty's siblings a nasty case of Chuck Cunningham Syndrome there for a while. The story was rather funny as well- kind of a neat twist ending.

Doesn't Hal have brown hair?

A few years ago, though I don't think I ever read the story where she moved back.

They've done that to Chic, pretty much.

Now that you mention it, I've seen various hair colours for Hal. I've seen him with white, blond and brown hair over the years. They were never quite as consistent with it as they are with the other characters.

I even think in a couple of stories from the 1950's, Mr. Cooper was BALD!

Yeah, looking at some old comics, I can see he's mostly brown-haired nowadays though, so I must be imagining things to have him as blond in my head.

He was also known as "Old Man Cooper" in Pep #22, I believe. We didn't get a good look at Mrs. Cooper, so either Mr. Cooper married someone a LOT younger than him (ew!), or Betty's adopted.
