  • Biollante: probalby, but 59 percent is considered a "blow out" in political terms, some people are on shaky ground right now, there was evne a conservative pollset that worked for Bush warning people that if Republicans are against things like gay marriage in the near future, they would endure catastrophic losses, I don't know if it's this political cycle, but the paradigm shift already happened a while ago

  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

Here's some coloring page scans.  For me, I am going to try and learn how to color these in using photoshop.  My graphic skills are seriously lacking.

Thanks for all your reviews and pictures.  I certainly enjoyed them.  Those Don Sherwood pictures were a revelation to me.  Drawing Katy a  bit more realistically as a more traditional romance comic was an interesting take.  Of course, Woggin and Lucas did great jobs as well (and later, Pepoy).

I just read this weekend a couple of the stories you reviewed.  They were in the December B&V Double Digest.  A Real Doll was cute and Katy apparently used to date governor Arnold in the 80's.  I noticed in a Christmas Pumkin, Katy's uncle and aunt call Sis, Melissa.

I really enjoyed reading your reviews! Don't apologize for them being too long! If anything, I wish your later reviews were longer!

And I ask that you review the digest stories as well.

I find it odd that they eventually introduced sci-fi and fantasy elements in a series that was, until that point, reality-based.

Over the past two nights, before bed, I've been reading the Model Behavior TPB. I LOVE IT! The stories are so grounded and real. I look forward to reading your thoughts on these.

I am happy that everyone enjoyed them.  It seems that towards the end of the series, Sis' name was used often but in ways that it was pushed on the reader.  I would have to dig up some references for examples.

Mark, I did skimp out on the few final issues.  I read them together during the last ice storm we had. It was a long series to do complete reviews on and I got bored at the end.  Sorry.

I am not sure what I am going to do with the digest.  I have been indexing the series over at GCD.  However, the digests contain so many stories and extras that I think it will take forever to write up individual story reviews like I did on this one.

I have the Katy Keene trade and am getting excited to read it but I want to read the digests first.  But I definitely will post my thoughts in jdh417 review thread.

If you're worried about the work or getting bored, just review the highlights of the digests, what you liked the best.

TM, glad you liked the trade too.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I finished reading it on Tuesday night (technically early Wednesday morning), and it's made Katy one of my favorite Archie characters (up there with Cheryl and Betty)! Sis is good, too!

Is there any website that can be read about the full story of this cartoon?

Hi John.  Thanks for posting here.  The series reads like a labor of love as well.  I wish you would return to do the new Katy Keene.  Anyway, I am planning on doing a review on the digest and other Katy appearances during the 80's.  I am just trying to find the time.  It's my bad because I keep picking up new series to read.
