  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.
    May 21, 2012, 07:57:37 AM
  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)
    May 21, 2012, 07:23:13 AM
  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

Ah, the famous Kisser story. Thanks for posting the link, Buzz.

It's nice when Archie Comics acknowledges homosexuality.

I'm guessing this story won't be reprinted anytime soon, sadly. Shame.

Betty Cooper + Cheryl Blossom. It's inevitable.

It was reprinted as "recently" as 1977, Mark.  It's found in Archie Digest #24.  But, I can't see it making appearances in this day and age.

That was a riveting tale!  If I hadn't earlier read the identity of "the kisser" here on the board, I never would have been able to figure it out.

The kisser's motive doesn't make any sense to me, though.  It's one of those great mysteries where the perpetrator's actions don't really add up if you think about it.

The kisser's motive didn't have to make sense.  When one remembers these characters were teenagers actually acting like teenagers, it just became another bit of goofy adolescent nonsense.  They've gotten so watered down nowadays (tho we still luv 'em).

It was a totally odd story no doubt.  The pretense that Betty would sneak around stealing kisses from girls is kind of an odd basis for a story in an Archie comic, no matter what her ultimate obective was.

I can totally imagine the girls (and not just the ones that Betty kissed either) teasingly asking Betty out on dates - for at least a week.

Awesome  :D

And I wonder what Moose's reaction would be? Betty kissed his girlfriend, after all! Would he just dismissed it, "Aw, shucks. I can't hit you, Betty. You didn't mean it." or is he really gonna... I'll stop now  :buck2:

Not necessarily -- she probably doubled her chances for a date on Saturday nights!
