  • Biollante: probalby, but 59 percent is considered a "blow out" in political terms, some people are on shaky ground right now, there was evne a conservative pollset that worked for Bush warning people that if Republicans are against things like gay marriage in the near future, they would endure catastrophic losses, I don't know if it's this political cycle, but the paradigm shift already happened a while ago

  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.
    May 21, 2012, 07:57:37 AM
  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

Is there anyone here who's selling from the Philippines?
« on: April 07, 2008, 06:13:17 AM »
I'm having a hard time how to buy archie comics especially old one,'m hoping there's someone out here who could help me. Thank you very much.

Do you have access to eBay?  I find that if you keep searching there, you can find a whole bunch of comics on sale there.  Most locations will probably ship to the Phillipines, but it'd probably cost a mint in postage and handling.

You might also try visiting sites that specialize in comic book trading.  I think Gregg might have a couple of ideas as well in tracking down older comics.

Barring all that, you could try hitting up stores in your area that deal in used books, if you have such a thing up there.  That's how I managed to net the bulk of my collection.

Good luck!

Offline Gregg

I've had really good luck with www.newkadia.com and mycomicshop.com. Milehighcomics.com is ok, but their prices are usually outrageously high. Occasionally you can get a good deal out of 'em.

Ebay's great!! I also got to local comic shops, used bookstores, flea markets, thrift shops and antique stores when looking for older comics.

There are also some great sellers on this site like Pep22 and Forsythe.

Newkadia is really good, and their shipping isn't too bad. For you, shipping would be $6.99US + $0.50US per book (according to XE.com, that's 291.25 Philippines Pesos + 20.83 Philippines Pesos per book).

I'd just be happy to have a decent comic-book store nearby... fortunately, I've got a subscription to a title or two, and am able to pick up comics here and there - it's usually fairly hit-and-miss though with the Borders, Wal-Mart and Publix scouting trips, though, as far as any sort of continuity or condition of the comics, but, I've had good luck with the subscription-sent comics!
