  • Biollante: probalby, but 59 percent is considered a "blow out" in political terms, some people are on shaky ground right now, there was evne a conservative pollset that worked for Bush warning people that if Republicans are against things like gay marriage in the near future, they would endure catastrophic losses, I don't know if it's this political cycle, but the paradigm shift already happened a while ago

  • Steveinthecity: I wonder why it's always readers that catch mistakes with art, powers, plots, continuity, uniforms, etc. and not the creators and editors?  I hope they're not secretly laughing at us. ;)

  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.
    May 21, 2012, 07:57:37 AM
  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)
    May 21, 2012, 07:23:13 AM
  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

Hi! ^_^
« on: September 11, 2011, 10:00:53 PM »
Just stumbled on this forum after looking up info on Archie comics.  I have been a long-time off-and-on Archie reader for years, and recently started reading them again with the 70th Anniversary paperback, which lead to picking up a few Double Digests, a Best of the Fifties paperback and the DVD's of The Archie Show and Archie's Funhouse.   I've also been listening to the 1940's radio show, "Archie Andrews" (guess I really dove in to this, hmm?) I also draw my own webcomic, Fluffy and Mervin which can be found at fluffyandmervin.com.  Oh, by the way, Hi.

Hey Debbie-Anne, made me think of the song by the Beach Boys "Bar-bar-bar-bar-barbara Anne." the song is an oldie but goodie.  ::) Hope you like it here in the Archiefans forum. We got ourselves a Ronnie in here too (and happy belated B-day, found it on the front page).

There is a sort-of Archie-inspired guest in today's Fluffy and Mervin (I just wanted to draw a different-looking character as a secondary player).

Yes I used a pic of Sabrina from the Filmation DVD set as a reference, as an in-joke for those who might recognize her, and for those who don't, it isn't important to the joke.  The Filmation Archie/Sabrina style of drawing is a bit more perfect-looking than my looser style, so she wasn't easy to draw.

Here is my first attempt at an Archie comics character, Betty, based on a Filmation image (because of how simplified the character designs are, it made it an easy starting place).  I drew it while the musicians were rehearsing at church, so that explains Betty's reading material (either that, or it was a flashback to Al Hartley's Spire Comics Christian Archie books...).

Probably that explains why she is nice.

But how does that explain her bouts of insanity ?

If you'd been 16 years old and in high school for 70 years, you'd be insane, too most likely.   :D

Hmmm, but that should apply to all her friends too.

Probably it's a case of Dr. Jekyll / Ms. Hyde.

Say ! Great Idea for a fanfic !

But a guy like me would make it too gruesome.

:P
