  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)
    May 21, 2012, 07:23:13 AM
  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

« on: September 28, 2008, 01:30:55 AM »
Greetings everyone.

I'm sure I'm pretty infamous on the boards for posting the controversial " Double meanings in Archie" topic. That was not a good way to start my first post.

I will not reveal to much about myself trying to live up to my Namesake :P ,but I will tell you:

I am Male
I came into Archie comics by my older brother who refused to share so I had to sneak a peak every time I had a chance. My parents refused to buy me comics at that age because I had to learn as much as I can while my mind was still going through "development"  ::).
   Fast forward a few years
I am now in my late teens (19) and I have been buying reading and sharing Archie comics since my 16th year. Why so interested? I just am. They summarize the trials and successes of growing up and being a teenager. Dealing with a principal who understands your wild and wacky dilemmas, your love for the tough guys girlfriend, your science project failures, your unusual best friend and I must say I never had to deal with two girlfriends, truth be told during those years I did not even deal with one (Parents again  ::)). The comics basically gave me situations to relate to and how I could cope and manage them.

That is my story on my love for the comics, and I am pretty sure I gave away a lot about my self.
Thanks for reading

Welcome
When I first saw your name I thought Anon.E.Moss....AnonyMoss...Anonymous. I love it. This is somewhat unrelated but I have a friend whose name is Warren peace-War and peace. I don't know if his parents named him as a joke but he has gotten used to all the Tolstoy humor you can think of ;D.
Again welcome, and I don't think your controversial topic was bad at all. :)

Anon,
Welcome aboard...
I for one enjoyed the Double Meaning topic. It was fun, and funny. I know this is a family website and we need to keep it family friendly, but once in a while we have to be an adult with an adult sense of humor.

Welcome aboard to the forums. That was a pretty interesting thread that you started and I have to agree with Omega and Frank.

Anyway, hope you have fun here. Archie Comics are indeed meant to be enjoyed by people of all ages, regardless of background, ethnicity etc etc etc. I myself am also 19, but I turn 20 in less than two months' time.

That said, welcome aboard!

In all honesty, I didn't find anything controversial about your topic at all.  Believe me...Oldiesmann would have deleted it if there were.  LOL!

Welcome to the forum!  Hope you have a lot of fun here. :)

Lol, I didn't *really* think so, but I just noticed ACF27 wasn't posting much and that was just when Anon.E.Moss appeared.  ACF27 usually posts a lot, but he never posted in that thread.

Lol no, I'm only 17....and I've liked Archie ever since I was 5 so it's obviously not me...I've been reading the "Double Meanings" thread but I haven't anything to post (maybe I've found one).

I may not be ACF27, Athena, but I may be the alter ego of some other members... maybe the alter ego of someone in this post...Hmmm.  ;)
J/k

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I am glad I have people out there to share my interest in Archie comics and discuss the different questions I have regarding the series.

Closing note- I have searched for this forum, I have found this forum and I love this forum :smitten:.

Do we have a section for Sonic on this site?

P.S. Omega
Has your friend had this experience. Teacher walks in the classroom places her books on the desk and says "Class we will now look at war and peace." Upon hearing this the whole class turns facing him. :D I know its a cheesy joke.

Greetings!  Welcome to the obsession :)

The Double-Meaning thread was a fine way to start!  It's always nice to think about the Archie universe in different ways.
No matter where I go, there I am.  Creepy.

We used to waay early in the site's history, but since no one ever posted in it, it was taken off, but you might want to ask Oldiesmann to put it back on if you want it...
