  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)
    May 21, 2012, 07:23:13 AM
  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

Oh wow, what a great site! Because there aren't enough reasons to love Archie Comics already :P

Anyway, my name's Sue, I'm from Australia and like you guys I love Archie comics! I practically grew up on them and had collection of over 100 digests, but gave them to a children's hospital when I had to move. Still, I'm sure they loved them more than I did anyway!

I really love the early retro comics and have a few of the first PEPs and some nifty ones from the 60s. Obviously, Betty is my favourite gal, and Reggie is probably my favourite guy (I'll get hurt for that one)! Jughead and Cheryl are legends too  ;D

Being a comic nut, I'm studying a Bachelors in Graphic Design with focus on Illustration and Animation. Maybe I'll be in the Archie credits one day, hehe! So if anyone wants websites/flyers/cars etc, come to me  :coolsmiley:

Neeway, enough about me.. Time to take a real good look at this site... Seeya 'round, I'd love to meet you all! :)

Welcome to the forum, Sue! :)

Don't worry about loving Reggie. There are a lot of Reggie lovers here.

And you're a fellow Cheryl fan. Nice!

Betty Cooper + Cheryl Blossom. It's inevitable.

I never knew there were so many Australian fans of Archie Comics here!  It's great to see so many people all over the world here (I'm Canadian, BTW).

Hey kids! Sorry if I've done this wrong, I was never much of forumer before this site XD Not sure if you can reply to individual replies, so I replied to everyone all in one go? Internetz n00b, haha!

Zach T - I'm a Perthite myself, though I've lived all over WA, mainly up north in the Kimberly an now in the suburbs. Archie comoics were my saviour from the perpetual heat up there. How about you, what part of Aus do you hail from?

BettyMantle - Yes, you did by a couple of hours, hehe. Actually, I saw your name and was happy to know that I'm not such a freak for loving the Betty-Reggie combo! They just work so well together, especially in the really retro ones where they're the schemers! Thought I'd better sign up after that :P

Tuxedo Mark & archiecomicsfan27 - How can you not love Cheryl?! She's almost a female Reggie, but with lot more tact. Gotta love the redheads ;)

CaptainHero - Neither did I! That's one thing I really like about Archie comics - even though it's set somewhere in the middle of Americana, it's characters and stories are accessible and relative to nearly everyone. It's amazing how a little comic book can break through so many barriers :)

Brunette & Dynakor - Hehe, Reggie would love to hear all this! My friends don't get it, Reg is such a cad, a bounder, plain snarky sometimes, but he's a great bloke underneath. Plus who wouldn't want to pull some of those pranks if they could get away with it?:P

Lisa.V & Athena - Hi girls! I've only been on this website twice but already I'm enjoying it, the people here are so friendly, no bickering like other forums! I'm impressed :)

Hope I didn't miss anyone, hehe. Thanks for the welcome guys, you're all so nice and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all :)

Now I'm gonna go watch Archie's Weird Mysteries, hehe.. So lame, but so good XD

Well, I was actually born in Singapore (which is why I'm currently in the Singapore Armed Forces; Singapore citizen by birth), but I became an Australian citizen in November 2006.

If you were to ignore my current situation, I live in Melbourne.
