  • Biollante: probalby, but 59 percent is considered a "blow out" in political terms, some people are on shaky ground right now, there was evne a conservative pollset that worked for Bush warning people that if Republicans are against things like gay marriage in the near future, they would endure catastrophic losses, I don't know if it's this political cycle, but the paradigm shift already happened a while ago

  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Biollante: ok so shouldn't Joe Quesada know that? lol  It made him look a bit stupid imo.
    May 21, 2012, 07:57:37 AM
  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

  • Biollante: Joe Quesada was drawing Thor on some Disney promo, and he drew him flying with his hammer on his side, now I'm not a Thor junkie, but isn't that actualy inaccurate, doesn't he fly by being dragged by his hammer???

How I got into Archie
« on: September 27, 2009, 01:29:16 PM »
Now, you probably noticed I'm a fan of both Warrior Cats AND Archie. Well, there's a reason for that. A couple years ago at a nearby Chapters, I was looking for the latest Harry Potter book. There was none of them there, and started to leave. Then, a book series caught my eye. There was the entire first series of Warrior Cats. So I bought it. Our next stop was the grocery store. On the way to the checkout, I saw an interesting looking comic book. It was a Jughead Digest, the one with him and January McAndrews in a spotlight, to be precise. I've been hooked on both series ever since.

It's not an Archie board, but Archie does make the Sonic comics after all...

Oooh, awesome!  January McAndrews is one of my favorite characters -- no wonder it hooked you!

Come to think of it, do you remember which issue it was?  I've been trying to track down all of January's appearances, but only know the old issue numbers, rather than digests that might have her.

I don't know if I can help out with actual digest issues, but I can give you a timeline...Jughead's Time Police, which has all of January's appearances was released in 1990.  I think I remember seeing the Time Police stories start appearing in digests around 1996, 1997.  I know it takes about 5-7 years for pamphlet comics to start reappearing in digests, so that'd be a good starting point for you to look at least.

I don't really remember if it was January or someone else... I'm pretty sure it's her, though.
